It's the loose use of the words that does little to discourage the spread of racist terms/attitudes.
Is it any surprise when multicultural britain is thrusted into your face...some don't want us to be a multicultural country...Not everybody wants the same things for our country.

That'll be your black friends thrusting multicultural Britain in your face will it?

Thankfully, the country isn't run by people like you.

Thread closed.

Apart from another gratuitous dig at UKIP (this thread isn't about UKIP, by the way - it's about an allegedly racist remark made by someone who happens to be a member of the UKIP party) you still haven't enlightened the rest of the world about what this phrase is supposed to mean. I repeat, I've never heard the phrase before, I don't know what it means - and a quick poll of friends, family and work colleagues indicates that I am far from alone. So - spill the beans, or stop banging on about racism.

Firstly, ive not said racist...I said 'offensive'....as quoted by her rightly outraged partner, UKIP supporter, and the bewildered wife..
What does the phrase mean? Its a rather sillly term used to describe somebody of asian origin by somebody who is clearly a fool..
Would it have been so hard for this 'politician' to use the word 'asian' ?

oh and yes, it DOES concern UKIP, as this idiot is only the LATEST ****wit to embarrass themselves, their party, and their supporters.....I find it particularly funny, and im looking forward to the next laugh already.....because we all know there will be MANY more.

The phrase is Thai and it's undoubtedly offensive to Thai speakers.

The epitome of the modern racist,"Look, I have black friends, I can't be a racist" the same as the EDL say look , we have black members, we can't be racist. Well, they are, and so are you

The UK Independence Party has today announced that it will refuse a donation from a deceased, UK terror convict who left the party nearly £30,000 in his will, Breitbart London can exclusively report.
The bequest, as found on the Electoral Commission's website, came from Allen Boyce, who was a British National Party (BNP) supporter, and who was convicted in 2006 of sending bomb-making instructions to BNP activist Terry Collins.
UKIP has a policy of refusing former BNP members, as well as British nationals who have been members of far right organisations such as the National Front, British Freedom Party, British People's Party, English Defence League, Britain First or the UK First Party.
http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/08/16/UKIP-to-donate-dodge-donation-to-charity

UKIP's Head of Press Gawain Towler spoke exclusively to Breitbart London: "It will be good to give a racist's money to the victims of racism. At least in UKIP when a criminal's money is given to us, we refuse it".

My foster brother served for eight years in the Royal Navy, and being a gentleman of colour, shall we say, people, even in the seventies were a bit unsure, what to call him. He ended up for his entire career being called Chocco, and he loved his nickname, and still calls himself it now, as do all his friends and some members of his family

Good on him. That is the RIGHT attitude.

So, it's slang for 'an Asian person' that is racist / offensive. OK. Thanks for the information. I'll ignore the rest of the crap.

Dave in Prague, just stay there mate and forget about this country. All through this thread you have been banging on and on and quite frankly it's becoming damn boring. Your doing damage to your own argument with your incessant self-righteous attitude.

"Gaz,Gaz, go out and get us a chinky yeah?!"
"nice one, I'll stop at the Paki shop and get some fags"

Oh how quaint and 80's. Surely you realise that you stop at the Taliban shop to get some fags?
