I'm with everybody here, but, he has a family with two young kids (all British) and you can understand that they shouldn't be penalised for his crimes.

The error here was the pitiful sentence and the sentencing judge not ordering immediate deportation before he had the chance to meet his future wife.
Yes, because someone that runs away and leaves a 12 year old girl dying under the wheels of their illegally driven car is such a good role model and father arent they ? by that argument should we not jail murderers that are parents then ?

or couldnt give a bollocks either way as long as they were out of town early enough on the friday.

The lawyer is duty bound to represent his client to the best of his abilities, he cannot sit in judgement of his client what ever the crime. Believe me if lawyers could choose their defendants then more than a few would have no representation at all.

Total miscarriage of justice.... although have we got all the facts... do we know why he would be in trouble in Iraq?

turn it on its head what sort of c unt uses children to secure themselves a cushier life.

Spot on.

I did not say that. He should have been deported after serving a sentence. I'm not defending the low life.

no he just wouldnt have the same amount of money and its not very nice.

being from a not very nice place is the underlying criteria for a lot of asylum claims. all bolstered and given confidence in their idiocy by the views of quite a few people who havent got thousands of asylum seekers on their doorstep, but can pontificate about it with confidence in Hanover pubs.

What are his human rights in this instance?

I think it is all about persecution when he gets back to his home country. Basically, he has applied for asylum here on more than one occasion, by virtue of this his own country will see him as some sort of splitter, and may well dish out some retribution on him.

That said, f*** him, send him back, and keep the family of the girl he killed updated on the retribution, fucker deserves it.

Well you are partly right... there are people who sneak through and unless he is in danger for his life he should be deported. However, the real mistake here is the four month sentence... even Lee Hughes got longer than that!

This is all he got charged with in the death of the girl:

Ibrahim, who did not hold a driving licence, was jailed for four months for driving while disqualified and failing to stop after an accident.

Completely outrageous. Has he even shown any remorse for what he did? If I was the father I daresay I'd be channelling my efforts into finding this bloke and serving up some real justice - leaving him wishing he'd opted for deportation.

And that my friends is why we are f****d. Until we sort out the wishy washy pathetic machine that masquerades as a legal system we will never ever get it to embrace the word 'fair'.

This.

I watched Crimewatch the other night and they featured, and I quote, "Britains most notorious armed jewellery gang". They caught 2 of the 3, but the leader SKIPPED BAIL! What the f***ing hell was the leader of Britains most notorious armed jewellery gang doing out on bail?

When I read about stupidly light punishments, and people on bail for heinous crimes, I really do get all "Daily Mail"

It reminds me of when my friend was killed by a woman driving over a reservation because she was distracted by one of the 7 (seven!) children in her 5 door car (three of which also died). She got 2 years but was out in one, still, she had to cope with the mental anguish of having killed four people, three being her friends children.

You would have thought that at the very least he would have been charged with manslaughter....and then deported.

Oh dear. I think I remember that one. It happened just after I had visited some old uni friends in Oxford.

A friend of a friend was passing at the time and assisted with the aftermath. Something he had never got over.

I presume that it was an accident, so I'm not sure manslaughter would have been possible. He sentence implies that he wasn't charged (or found guilty of) driving dangerously or without due care. He was charged with not stopping at the scene of an accident and driving whilst disqualified.

Whilst I think the immigration conviction is wrong it looks as the the accident wasn't his fault because if it was he would have been charged accordingly. It's a moot point as to whether the accident would have happened had he not been driving because he had no license.
