Forget Micky, and think long-term...
My step-father was an Albion fan, and his heyday was back in the 50's, as a regular at the Goldstone. I'm jealous that he was in the record crowd against Fulham in 1958, among many other well-remembered games. His last match was when I took him to the 1-0 win at Leicester, when he joined in the "stand up if you want Falmer" chants.
Well, he won't make it to Falmer, as he died on Sunday. At 84, I don't suppose any of his mates from the old days are on NSC. But, as he seemed to know everyone in Portslade, Southwick and Shoreham, it's possible your dad or grandad knew him - Rex Saunders. A lovely bloke, and I just would have loved to take him to the opening game at Falmer. RIP.
