Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
So, not only do we have to put up with the fact that this piece of shit caters pretty much solely for the whole football supporting public south of the Watford gap, but now it seems that its attention of it so called chief sports writer is completely transfixed on the altogether more sinister preocupation of running stories about how difficult we are going to find it to hold on to Leon Knight !

As if it isnt plainly f***ing obvious that this indeed may be a problem, **** Naylor has run his 5th or 6th banner back page headline in 2 months indeed proclaiming this fact, and of course whilst doing so totally undermining and unsettling Knight, and other members of the team

Oh, but I forgot, the BASTARD is good at doing that, probably more sorry than us to see Bobby go, as it must have been a struggle to write anything positive about anybody, or indeed an article without trying to undermine the club, manager or player.

I for one plan to confront Mr Naylor at Withdean on Saturday to ask him why he has writen so many detrimental articles about the club over the past year or so, and what his real agenda is, oh and in case anyone thought I bought the paper, I read the back page in TESCOS and felt such rage that I almost crashed my car in the way out of the car park.

Naylor gets great pleasure from stirring the shite, and as he has no emotional ties to the Albion feels no pain when we lose good players or matches.

If I wanted dispassionate and even handed reporting about my football club I would read the BBC webpages. It would be good to see some enthusiasm about the Albion from Naylor.

Agree 100% Rougvie, I read that headline, which read something like "Albion Struggle to Hold Onto Knight" and nervously started to read the article, only to immediately realise that it was a complete non-story with no foundation whatsoever. And if anyone from the Argus is reading this, no I didn't buy it, I read it in WHSmiths.

It was bad but oh so predictable headline writing. The article itself was reasonable enough, coming from a failry innocent and relevant question - have there been any offers for division two's top scorer in the transfer window? But the answer was no, and the headline bore no relation to the content of the article. Not Naylor's fault probably as I don't think he writes the headlines, but for crying out loud the sports editor (or whoever wrote the headline) should be shot.

tough, the jobs mine :p

Now don't be silly, you two!

You fail on the essential qualifications for an Argus footy writer's job - you love the Albion and you know about football!

Local sport coverage suffered today because most of the games over the weekend were called off. The Premiership section, while not interesting me, doesn't seem to be at the expense of reports about Worthing Thunder, Eastbourne Borough, Crawley Town or Haywards Heath Rugby et al.

The Falmer report isn't bad either

The problem in general is that there is too much journalism in football. Is there really stuff to report from the Albion camp six days a week? Or any club for that matter? It's no wonder tiny incidents get blown out of all proportion and star players are constantly linked with other clubs.

And as for Naylor being more passionate about Brighton, what would be the point of that? Leave the passion to the fans. Let the journalists concentrate on dispassionate and accurate reporting of the facts.

Fair enough if you don't believe Naylor achieves this. But don't assume a Brighton fan would automatically do better.

We need many more pages of Man United and Chelsea. Sorry, I forgot - NSC doesn't do sarcasm ;)

and don't forget Pompey and Saints and Charlton and Fulham and Arsenal (for all those w@@kers from North London who pollute out fair city at weekends)

If Naylor's reporting was dispassionate and accurate it would fit into the 'worthy but dull' category, but he is far more weasel like than that.

He actively stirs things up, which puts him into the mischieveous camp in my view.

In the local rag up here (Manchester Evening News) the journo's are red and blue through and through, because the editor knows that is how to sell papers.

We are all fans of the Albion here on NSC, but it does not stop us being critical of the club, as evidenced by many a thread
