Past history tells us that rather than sign kids with potential MA will sign tried and trusted pros to get us out of this division and then reassess the situation.

so whats the difference if Wilkins signs some young kid we have never heard of from a Championship club, then if Adams did the same thing? Why is the Adams one automatically higher quality??

What???

Im saying adams will attract a better class of player....players know him, they have heard of him, they know his reputation as whing commented on in the argus.

They will want to part of this, more in my opinion than a youth coach in his second season. Adams is well liked and respected in football...they know his acheivements in lower leagues and on top of it all...he will get every % out of a player and get them playing to their potential..something which wilkins didnt get imho.

We needed adams back...we need bigger gates, we couldnt have another season of 4-5k gates, and the quality wasnt good enough hense why people didnt go....that will change now imho

I would half agree with you. I think a more factually correct statement would be: Wilkins Loan signings have been the best for years.

Murray has yet to prove himself on a regular basis.

Have you actually seen him play? Going against the NSC grain I think the guy is absolute quality and I doubt we'll see him in the stripes for long

Yes I have about 5 times...his first touch is quality and his movement is very good. But his finishing is very non-league..he needs 5 chances before he scores....the potential is there....but I feel adams will do for murray what he did for Zamora....he will get what murray needs..inpiration, motivation and that winning attitude...I just dont think wilkins could ever get that across/

seconded, just because he doesnt appear to run around like Revell or Hart doesnt mean he is rubbish - quality signing, quality player

Im just saying it comes across like you think whoever Adams signs, it will be better than anything Wilkins could do.

Even if it was a young loan player no one had heard of

Not at all...im just stating that with the summer here and players geting released left, right and centre from a higher division, I feel Adams will attract a higher quality of player. Wilins seemed very tunnel vision about younger players, Adams knows what it takes to get us out of this division...a tasty blend of youth and expiereince and he knows what type of player. A mix of battle hungry defenders and goal hungry strikers....

Adams will also imho attract the right kind of player.....the player with the do or die attitude

Sprinkle a bit of Adams motivation and desire to succeed on top, gas mark 4 and we have a tasty team!!!

The one thing Wilkins has done is made generally decent signings. Even some of the more erratic ones (Savage) have made an impact.

Adams did make some fairly ropey signings last time (Newhouse, Pinamonte, Palmer, Campbell, Cartwright, Cameron etc) and also some superb ones.

One thing that is different now is that in Lloyd we do seem to have a decent scout.

Also where is Virgo going to play for us?

Murray is definitely a class act and the best striker since Zamora, IMO. Yes - as for raw talent, I really do think he's better than Nicky Forster and Leon Knight.

His movement is intelligent and his first touch is way better than most in this division. I don't even hold him responsible for the number of times he's caught off side. From what I've seen, he's either flagged offside wrongly OR the midfield is simply too slow in giving him the ball. Murray's main weakness is his finishing, but I'm confident that will come good with better fitness and coaching.

I have no idea, but it seemed to be the assumption people on here jumped to when Adams was re-appointed.

However he does have one year left on his Celtic contract and I would guess Celtic will be wanting to recoup some of the 1.5 million we mugged them for...
If that is the case then Celtic will want him loaned out in the Championship for 3 to 6 mionths, where he's more likely to gain exposure to potential buyers.

He hardly player under adams did he, so I cant see why he would come back.
He was a coppell,mchee,taylor player I thought.

But that is the sort of player adams will go looking for im sure....a put your head into anything kind of player....wilkins and his nancy boy youth players wouldnt last under adams...

I think Fraser will like adams style...not sure about coxy though.....adams wont stand for his crap like wilkins did.

Do you think that if Adams was in charge the season just finished, his motivation would have got us the 10 extra points we needed to get in the play offs (irrelivant of Leeds points with/without deductions)

I couldnt say mate....I would say that on the whole the performaces would have been better and im sure the gates would have been higher. I am also quite sure that Adams would have got the best out of everyone of the players. If that would have got us enough points to finish above leeds..your guess is as good as mine.

Adams had him on loan for a season at Coventry and then Colchester had him on loan for last season and Adams was the number 2 there until Christmas, so he has played him a fair bit.

Difficult though as come Christmas he can look at signing pre-contract agreements and they could lose him for nothing. Also from now on his value drops as the length of time left on his contract shortens.

I would think they will try and punt him over the summer for say 300k and cut their losses.

Either way we mugged them for 1.5 million, so it is all good.
