I am not a fan of his, but he is regularly mentioned by stand-ups as one of the best and most influential of recent years. Certainly more deserving of being in a Best Ever line-up than 90 per cent of the people on this list.

I often wonder this too. I saw a few years ago when i think it was maybe Channel 4 or E4 were compiling a list of the '100 greatest comedians' he is always number one. For the life of me and I can never understand why?

And maybe get rid of the comedians who have had an average 2011 and replace them with the comedy GREATS missing out...

Not your fault Mellotron. The fault of the NSC voting public.

Hopefully everyone can still find a comedian or two to get behind.

But without Michael McIntyre - the single most successful stand-up comedian of the last ten years, it's a bit like having the champions league without Barcelona.[/QUOTE]

I think this competition would be better of without him. Annoying voice and those hand movements fill me with hate. Very over rated probably because he has too much exposure on terrestrial TV.

Seeing as the chocolate bar final has finished can we just get on with it?

It's not like anyone has anything better to do.

I'm not gonna rush it, the nominations went a bit too quickly for some.

The 4 groups will be up by TONIGHT.

Groups will run from tonight to friday night (out the way for leeds game).
Quarters on sunday til tuesday
Semis tues night til thurs
Final friday early til saturday night, perfectly in time to get out the way for the Liverpool game.

On one side of draw
1.) Winner Grp A vs Runner up C
2.) Winner Grp B vs Runner up D

then on other side of draw
3.) Winner Grp C vs Runner up A
4.) Winner Grp D vs Runner up B

Then 1.) vs 4.), and 2.) vs 3.)

Anyone see any issues with that? Want to run a tight ship here.

The knockout rounds will be held at small/cult comedy clubs, with the final at a BIG venue TBA. We could only get the budget for one big venue.

Tell me if I'm taking it too seriously.

You must be terrified after the debacle that was chocolate-gate. All eyes on you!

Quite. I accept there will be some rumblings no matter what happens, I just want to enable some big comedy-based binfests.

kevin Bridges is fantastic. One of very few that make me laugh out loud. Whenever i see him on telly, my mood is always a little better at the end.
