Annoying person!

Someone I sit near at work comments on everything I eat. I have a normal, human diet. For example today I have lasagne, pitta bread and orange juice with me for lunch. Yesterday I had cottage pie and had to endure tonnes of comments about how unhealthy it is etc. I eventually told her to shut her face and that she doesn't have to comment on every forkfull of food I shove into my piehole.

However, she continues to pull a face and make Eugh noises as I eat. She, by the way, is a semi-hedge monkey who drinks Cashew nut milk (don't ask!) and eats weird beige things on rye bread and forages for nuts and berries on heathland.

What practical steps can I take to shut her up once and for all as telling her seems to garner unsatisfactory results?

p.s I caught her drinking a MASSIVE vat of hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows yesterday.

Thank you, I await your response.

If its any consolation there was a bird in my office who was like that, always eating salads and crap like that and moaning when others ate things like bacon butties etc.

She got the sack for being caughrt nicking drugs from the warehouse.

Ignore her, she is rude and ignorant. By giving any attention to her you're just boosting her obviously flabby ego.

I had/have exectly the same issue.

She eats pitta bread and salad every lunch.

This particular person did smoke, so I used this and basically said that when she smoked I didn't care or comment about the damage she was doing to herself so if she could be so polite as to never comment on what I eat again I would be grateful. To date she has shut the fk up.

I can't stand people who do that, its your body why should she even care what your eating.

Have you tried to embarrass her every time she comments? ie can other people hear what she says when she comments on your food? if not you could try jumping up looking disgusted and saying something like "ergh no i will not touch you up under the table" or anything that would make her too embarrassed to mention your food again?

I like that idea. She will have that the next time she comments!

Elegant way to shut her up.. wait til she is away from her desk, go to settings on her computer go to spell check...change the word "The" to "I eat mung beans and take it up the Gary"...sit back and enjoy.

Sentences like:

"Further to our converstion last week I hereby enclose I eat mung beans and take it up the Gary information you requested."

Will amuse.

Tell her she's got an enormous arse, they really hate that, even if they haven't.

Sounds quite heavy fare for a lunchtime Nibster.

What do you typically have of an evening, on a day when you've had such a lunch?

Also, is it homemade or shop-bought microwaveable crap?

A fair observation. I am currently trying to put on weight with food combined with gym work for a film role. I eat a lot throughout the day but tend not to eat so much of an evening. Todays lasagne was I'm afraid a piece of shop bought crap but I usually make something th eprevious evening.

An evenings food at the moment would be fish and rice and Veg about 6 then cereal and a protein drink thingy about 8.

Have you tried decking her and then smearing her fanny with cottage pie ?
Remind me not to go for sloppy seconds anywhere near a bird that Stinkers has been after.

Meanwhile Nibble, can you do us a favour and start a thread called "Annoying person" when your old mate Bars Mar is back in business? :D
