Andy Whing on loan?

Yeah, I don't disagree with that. But, do you not agree that these players mentioned would have been a) affordable, and b) good enough for us? I think they would have ticked both boxes.
Who knows anymore? We couldn't afford Ibhere and Kandol. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if Blackpool offer more in wages than us.

Adams wouldn't have "offered" them to us. We would have had to pay the market rate and outbid other clubs for them.
The fact they both went to Blackpool for FREE suggests the only outbidding would have been for wages and maybe a little signing on fee, for some reason we never got that far though perhaps we couldn't afford it...

Yes, you've just proved he hasn't been gone for a season and a half  :lolol:

And also proved you totally wrong in saying that he had only left half a season ago. But at least I corrected my mistake and didn't come back with a stupid smiley!

But Lynch was alot better than Harding last season. So I would say we only failed to replace him for half of last season and 11 games this season.

Joel Lynch is not a leftback. Please stop making excuses for what was a bad mistake in never replacing Dan Harding for a year and two months when McGhee left. If we had a better leftback than Mayo Lynch could have played centreback. Mayo with no competiton is not what I call good for a Championship side.

I suspect that Blackpool do offer more than us now.
I understood that we could afford Ibehre but that he did not want to join either us or Wycombe. We would have been able to sign Kandol from Dagenham but Barnet got in there first even though we were rumoured to be interested.

I think the whole Harding issue has been done to death so there is no point arguing about it again. JL may not be a LB but he was still a damn site better than Harding

I think that you have got a bit confused we tried to sign Kandol from Barnet and McLean from Grays during the last transfer deadline. Unless you are saying that we tried to sign Kandol before he went to Barnet, at an earlier transfer period, in which case I am confused.

The only thing was that Deano really only played for us, if my memory serves me right, apart from his time in the Netherlands. I am now wracking my brains to think of people who he played with, for the Albion, who may be in positions where they may be considered valuable contacts.

Alan Curbishley? Steve Cotterill?

He also takes claim to scoring the last ever goal at Highfield Road in the 6-2 win over Derby County. Ironically he also supports Coventry's biggest rivals Aston Villa.

Now you're reduced to making things up in a rather silly way. Everyone knows when Harding left except you, and you have been caught out exaggerating the time he's been gone.

My reference to half a season was obviously how long it took to replace him with a consistent performer like Lynch, not how long Harding had been gone.

Well, he played half a season for us at leftback in a higher league more creditably than he has done at centre-back since the Forest game. Only a closed mind pigeonholes what players can do for a team.

Absolutely - particularly at our level it is wages rather than transfer fees that makes or breaks deals, but seemingly on here everyone obsesses about transfer fees and completely forgets that players have to be paid.

Season and a half? What are you talking about? Harding hasn't been gone for a season and a half. I'll give you half a season at most, Lynch made his debut at leftback at the beginning of January.

You quite clearly state above that Harding has been gone for half a season. You don't qualify the statement about Joel Lynch being leftback and hime being an adequate replacement do you? You just say Lynch made his debut in January. Sorry for not being able to read your mind. But at least I can accept I was wrong about the dates with Harding, you come up with excuses for me not reading htings correctly.

I am not a closed mind at all. The reason why we are talking about Lynch at leftback is because you cannot seem to see that not replacing Harding when he left the club was not an error by the management. You seem to think that putting a young centreback into a leftback position against Championship players was a good thing? It was born out of neccesisity not choice, Lynch was put there because we didn't have a first choice leftback. The side would have been far stronger if Lynch had been at centreback and we had a recoginised leftback. After all by me not being closed minded Lynch would have been able to cover cb and lb if we had another lb at the club at the time, greater strength in depth.
