My reference to half a season was obviously how long it took to replace him with a consistent performer like Lynch, not how long Harding had been gone.

Well, he played half a season for us at leftback in a higher league more creditably than he has done at centre-back since the Forest game. Only a closed mind pigeonholes what players can do for a team.Southover Street Seagull said:

You seem to think that putting a young centreback into a leftback position against Championship players was a good thing? It was born out of neccesisity not choice, Lynch was put there because we didn't have a first choice leftback. The side would have been far stronger if Lynch had been at centreback and we had a recoginised leftback. After all by me not being closed minded Lynch would have been able to cover cb and lb if we had another lb at the club at the time, greater strength in depth.
