I've no problem with female match officials, but the hypocrisy on this thread is astounding , there are people calling for the heads of keys and gray who dismissed the ross and brand " sachsgate " affair as just an attempt by the daily mail to whip up hysteria, and create outrage amongst people who otherwise would never have heard the tape, same here, except this story is one that falls foul of the PC brigade.

So the PC brigade approve of insulting phonecalls? They're so enigmatically difficult to pin down those PC brigade members, it's almost as if they don't exist except as a catch-all term for things idiots don't like.

In relation to your point the Sachsgate phonecall was offensive but wasn't an example of a prejudice, was passed as acceptable to broadcast by a producer and was factually correct, none of which can be said about the Gray and Keys incident.

I don't think people on here are calling for their heads purely over this incident.

Its just a rather nice possibility that this MIGHT be enough to finally get rid of these two odious wankers who are both way, WAY past their sell-by dates. Personally I'd be delighted if they got the boot, I couldn't give a shit what for. They've been dickheads for some considerable time now, and its high time they were moved on. If Sky can hang their sacking on these "unacceptable comments" then so be it. Bloody marvellous, I'd say.

Amen to that. As I say get Redknapp and someone else to do it

Jamie Redknapp is a bit bland though dontcha think ?

Maybe they could poach Robbie Savage from the BBC, he's brilliant on 606.

Agreed - I felt the same way about Rodney Marsh, who, whilst certainly not meaning any malice when chucking the N-word about, still deserved the boot regardless for being an outmoded, ill-informed and buffoonish lump of bacon. The end justifies the means.

Too far from the sun
Graham Poll doesn't seem to like them very much either...

"Hopefully, her performance and demeanour will encourage others to start officiating and at least some good can come from the unwarranted comments from two men who should know better.

The last time I had the temerity to criticise Keys and Gray for their puerile and unfair attack on referee Uriah Rennie, Keys phoned me and abused me for doing so.

He told me I was punching above my weight and he left me with the impression I wasn’t wanted at Sky. That showed the man’s true colours.

Between the two of them they prevent free speech and thought, as any adverse comments are quashed by them.

Oh, by the way Richard, don’t bother phoning me after this comment — your opinions are of no interest to me."

I never used to think that much of Graham Poll however he has gone up in my estimation after that.

Slightly off topic, but I'd really like to see how having an all female officiated match affected the players and their total lack of respect for refs.

It would also be interesting seeing how knobs like Andy Gray stumbled his way through a match analysis...

Surely the precedent was set when Big Ron got the bullet for his racist remarks on ITV - he too thought he was making off-air comments to his colleagues (no defence anyway IMHO).

If Sky don't follow ITV's example by sacking Keys & Gray, they might as well come out & say they don't think sexism is as important an issue as racism...

He got sacked for the Tsuanami joke didn't he? Big Ron was the Desailly incident

'Phew am exhausted. Just read about something called "the offside rule". Too much for my tiny brain. Must be damaged from nail polish fumes' - Kelly Cates (nee Dalglish) reveals her tiring Sunday morning.

Said Kenny Dalglish to a Sky Sports reporter at a Liverpool press conference as he prepared to ask the first question:

"Are you OK with her (a female journalist) being in the room?"

From what the Sky management have said it looks as though Keys and Gray have gotten away with this with just a slap on the wrist and a few days to cool off and reflect.

I'm not surprised as these two are part of the Sky Sports furniture and Andy Gray's the only one who can work the Telestrator anyway.

However, I reckon their card has been marked and once Sky bosses see the fallout from this Richard Keys might be called in post-season for a Tony Hayres-style "Have I Got A Second Series?" letdown.

It will be interesting to see the chemistry between the two guys after this. I wouldn't be surprised if Andy Gray puts most of the blame on Keys and hangs him out to dry.

There's only one obvious replacement for Gray. You need a man more in tune with the modern world, respectful of others, a punctual, sober, intelligent and articulate voicepiece for Sky Sports. It has to be Alan Brazil.

Imagine the two Alans - Brazil and Partridge - presenting MNF in tandem. That would be TV Gold, nay "Liquid football". Coming to you live, from Carrow Road...
