Totally ridiculous remarks from both, who are they trying to impress ? Makes them look utterly stupid IMHO, should be at least put on Gardening Leave for a couple of weeks.

2 sexist men working at Sky Sports. Blimey, who'd have thought it.

.

Well, quite. There has been a very funny phone-in on talkSPORT on this issue this morning, hosted by those bastions of political correctness Alan 'Ghengis Khan' Brazil and Ronnie Irani.

Brazil is having a nightmare. All theses really sexist callers keep coming on who he wants to agree with, but can't or he'll lose his job.

The irony in all this is that they are spot on in regards to Karen Brady (although they should have added that she has let herself go a bit).

It's not sexist to say that she has royally messed up the whole Martin O'Neill / Avram Grant debacle and her undertone of positive discrimination on the Apprentice made me want to batter the tellybox.

Obviously it's somewhat undermined with the other comments.

I think you have to accept that Karen Brady has almost certainly suffered horrendous sexism in her time in football. Even today directors are almost all white, middle-class men. Doesn't mean she hasn't made mistakes, she has certainly traded on the 'woman in a man's world' thing, and can be a bit abrasive herself, but she is very well qualified to talk about sexism in football. A lot more than Andy Gray, anyway.

Much ado about nothing, they would have said a male linesman needed to read the rules as well. As for calling for their heads, what has this country come to ??

The question should actually be, where is this country going, if sexist idiots such as these two are allowed to keep their jobs. Gray is crap anyway and should be sacking just for being annoying.

There's more than a little irony in her appointment when you consider how her paymasters have made their fortunes.

She may well have done but I'd be more inclined to believe it if she wasn't using it to justify how she had never undermined poor old Avram and it's all those nasty journo's fault. The inference being that they sit in thier offices with pictures of that tennis player scratching her arse on the wall, knocking one off to the latest copy of Nuts whilst shouting across the office 'Here Keith, What do you tell a women with two black eyes' 'Nothing mate, you've told her twice already'

In any case, Football directors are a different breed these days. I'd think Roman Abramovitch would be more likely to have her shot than slap her arse and make a joke about getting the kettle on.

I thought she worked for David Sullivan prior to them buying Birmingham?

Indeed but when you realise how he made his money (good luck to him for that) you have to admit there's some irony though.

Err, right. It's not much of a choice though, is it. Subject yourself to base sexual harrassment, or have your brains blown out in a contract Russian mafia-style hit.

Watched the Blackburn game and Andy Gray completed peed me off. West Brom player goes down on edge of box, replay indicates it was inside, and Gray just went on and bloody on, seemingly ignorant of the fact that no West Brom player, especially the guy who was bought down, made a song and dance about it. Only Andy Gray Officials have hard enough job without the likes of him

Yes, that annoyed me too. It's typical Gray, going completely potty about a decision, that he's utter convinced was wrong AFTER he's seen the replay! Until that moment he was only sure enough to exclaim mild surprise with "Oh, he's given a free kick." Get a grip Andy and stop hyping up all the anti-officials stuff. That hopeless RESPECT campaign needed to make point 1, get Andy Gray off telly.

Can you imagine them saying Asian people don't understand offside, or the Welsh, or disabled people? The referee in our game yesterday had a physical disability: I don't remember anyone questioning his judgement because of it (a few questioned his judgement, granted, but not on the basis of him being disabled).

I'd love that to have been the case, but sadly its not. From our special fans, mentionned on the other thread, I quote;

"Penalty! Penalty! f***ing C*NT. He's not pointed to the spot, because he's got no arm. f***ing Spastic C*NT"

"He's armless inee?" "Oi ARMLESS, You f***ing Spastic C*NT"

"f*** sake ref. f***ing FLID"

etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

SHOCKING,anyway I must get on with my knitting before Mrs Davis from our local churches flower arranging course arrives for afternoon tea.Get over it you bunch of tarts.I don`t know why so many people are waiting for the second coming of Christ when there are so many people on NSC that are so moralely superior that they could learn from.:lolol:

This post made me think, I had to stop kncoking one out to Nuts, tear my eyes away from the Athena poster in our office and reply.

It's all so predictable from those two. Saloon bar, golf club, Daily Mail style bigotry. Complacent with it.

BBC not much better. Alan Hansen...there's another one. Racist bully imo.

We've all seen womens sport and how it doesnt match up to the mens ie football / cricket / tennis etc so they should just be kept to their own bits really.

Apologies to upset the PC brigade

That's a rather strange 'argument' to justify the on-going misogynistic agenda that still pervades our national game. The subject of Gray & Keys' piss-poor comments was a woman who was a qualified league official: & thus she was seen by FA as capable of doing a professional job at the highest level. I didn't see the whole game, but by all accounts Sian Massey had a good game & called a difficult decision - which led to Liverpool's opening goal - absolutely correctly. It all goes to add to the sheer pig-ignorance of that pair of tools who front Sky's Premiershite coverage, & for those men who continue to peddle an inadequate sense of their own masculinity.

Oh, and then there's the ol' PC chestnut you (& countless others) look to qualify your stupidity with. I doubt if there's any point in me explaining how respect for others comes from self-awareness; knowledge; & valuing our individual and collective humanity - because I'd be completely wasting my time.
