Spending £15m+ on Chris Wood would be thoroughly disappointing, in my opinion. We need mobility, not another player in the target man mould. Considering the players we've recruited thus far, and their pedigree, I can't see Hughton/Barber/Bloom going all in on a Championship striker.

Totally agree. We have two good target men, with Murray offering more than that, but he's 33.

If we are only buying (or borrowing) one more striker, I hope he has pace, not least so that we aren't predictable to defend against.

As far as their thinking is concerned you could well be right. I'm amazed no one has taken a chance on Wood yet though. He has been knocking on the Premier League door for a good few seasons now.

The risk of him being at PL level, the next Jordan Rhodes or Bamford, at a fee of £15m to £20m, with wages to match.

With players who can cross a ball of the calibre of Knockaert, March, skalak, suttner and deadball specialists such as Gross et al another big lump in the box may not be a bad shout!

I was thinking he opposite. With a lump in the centre the players play the easy hoof rather than being more sophisticated and working an opening.

He had 6 months in the Premier League with Leicester before they sent him on loan to Ipswich.

Was he at Shrewsbury with Goldson? !

Ish. Gray was released by them in May 2010 and was out on loan for a good part of that season. Goldson signed his first professional contract with them same month Gray left, but had been in their youth set up since 2004, so chances are they at least knew of each other.

We won't be considering and neither will he. Good player, bad attitude, dubious value. Erase this from your minds.

If TB calls & asks for my opinion, I'll say, "You know that team spirit?, Let's keep it!" For that reason, I'm out.

I would be happy for the return of Ulloa if Leicester were prepared to let him go, but then would he want to come back??
