What we want is an elegant yet powerful forward with an eye for goal, who is capable of playing anywhere along the front line; although he has been deployed as a second striker, he has also been used in a central role as a main striker, and is a competent and efficient finisher with both feet. A tenacious and energetic player, he is known for his work-rate and defensive contribution off the ball, and often drops into midfield in order to help his team win back possession. He is also known for his speed and intelligent attacking movement, which enables him to create space and provide depth for his team. Regarded as a promising young player, he also possesses good technical skills, as well as flair and finesse on the ball, and is capable of linking-up with his teammates and bringing other forwards into play.

PS; not my script.
Yea but who?

Two words, one name, Chris Wood. Played regularly alongside Glenn in his time here under Gus, and l think would do again on the odd occasion Chris Hughton decides to play two big strikers up front, Far more mobile then Glen so l think the combo could work. Besides which if Glenn gets injured or suspended who would replace him then? Tomer Hemed is a competent Championship striker, but not convinced he is Premier League standard.

The big question is l suppose, what would it take to prize him away from Leeds?

No, no and no.

Or until this week, moths were the most frequent things to come out of Tony's wallet.

But when Tony opened his wallet, they were not moths that fluttered skyward. But gloriously rich, colourful and majestic butterflies the like of which have never before graced our Sussex meadows. Behold such wonder, a new golden age is upon us!

Couldn't think of a logical reason why he would join us unless it was financially driven. He must be hoping for a West Ham, Southampton, Bournemouth or Stoke, established PL club with a bit more financial weight behind them.

Craig Dawson is a fantastic defender, a giant, good on the ball and scores plenty of winners.

I would have thought that a really big club would come in for him, if he's on the move.

Wouldn't he be at a 'really big club' now, considering he's been in the Premier League for a good few seasons?

Spending £15m+ on Chris Wood would be thoroughly disappointing, in my opinion. We need mobility, not another player in the target man mould. Considering the players we've recruited thus far, and their pedigree, I can't see Hughton/Barber/Bloom going all in on a Championship striker.

West Brom are after him which may free up Dawson.

We are playing the waiting game.

I remember a similar game being played last summer with Stephens! Incremental increases of £50 ( being added to the original derisory bid ) faxed through to BHAFC HQ every Friday before Dyche had his customary pint of best and fish supper. Didn't work.

With players who can cross a ball of the calibre of Knockaert, March, skalak, suttner and deadball specialists such as Gross et al another big lump in the box may not be a bad shout!
