No just sick and tired of watching England and their over payed players put in insipid performances for their country. I don't expect Brighton to put in great performances each week. Oh and i watched Crawley grind out a result today.

I second this.

Another Unconvincing Performance From The England Side,
What Makes Me Laugh Is We Keep Sacking Managers And Then Pay Millions For Someone Like Cappello Who Picks Basically The Same Side That Sven And Mclaren Did!

Call it indisciplined, if you like - I'd call it unprofessional. Look at Germany tonight - also playing minnows away , and did a thoroughly professional job on them (6-0).

I agree, though, that we don't have to win in Croatia. A draw would be a very good result - as long as we then go on to win at home. The games I am worried about are the away games against the mid-level sides - I can see us dropping points there (Ukraine, for a start, and I wouldn't be too surprised if we struggle in Kazakhstan), whereas I can't see Croatia doing that (although I don't think Croatia are anywhere near as good as their FIFA ranking suggests).

Capello does have a good footballing brain, and will do better than the brollyman at sorting things out when we are struggling. It's not Capello I'm worried about.

Totally agree with everything you have written. Germany dispatched with their minnows with ease. I also find it interesting that everyone seems to have forgotten Ukraine are in our group and I think they will be a very stubborn team. Croatia's ranking is slightly inflated I feel but they are still a decent team and will be a force in this group. They know they have a real chance of qualifying and will give it their all.

I'd call it realism, there is nothing historically or currently which suggests we are a major european or world force.

There are things called hope & belief, I'm just glad it was'nt people like you fighting the 2nd world war or all our grandparents would've ended up in the gas chamber.

I am glad it wasn't people like the players in the England team fighting for us to be honest.

Obviously they've all been taught to love foriegners instead of fighting against them like our grandfathers did but thats what you get when lefties have a say in matters.

Point taken, Beer talk has taken over so it's time for bed. :bigwave:

No offence mate, I see the point you were trying to make but you ODed it with the whole war analogy lark.

Fair play for admitting it though! I don't blame you for hitting the drink after today's game either(ours that is)

and if we lose. I think our world cup campaign would be over before it started. Croatia is a must win game to restore some pride and confidence

Is it, my arse.

People really need to get it into their heads that the reason Croatia beat us last time is because they're a better team than England, and no manner of lame excuses can disguise that.

Therefore we have no right whatsoever to expect maximum points as if it's our right, and it's rubbish to suggest that if they don't win it's somehow a disaster. If they'd failed to beat Andorra, that would be crap. Failing to beat Croatia is no great shocker.

Croatia away is probably the most difficult game in the group. If we can come away from there with a point then it'll be an excellent result. It'd go some way to restoring the confidence that the players themselves are now admitting they've lost. I'd like a battling 0-0.

And for those bemoaning, again, how crap we are and how we only won 2-0, some more results from last night.

Austria 3-1 France
Albania 0-0 Sweden
Armenia 0-2 Turkey
Cypress 1-2 Italy(WORLD CHAMPIONS)

We weren't the only team to not destroy weaker opposition. The only really big win was the Germans(euro 2008 runner up). Everyone else 'did a job'. Apart from the french, who lost(HAHA!).

Nope, top go through, second playoffs. Ukraine are no mugs either. Wouldn't be surprised if we came third again.

Not necessarily the 2nd place who go through....its the 8 best runners up.....England could finish 2nd and not proceed.

Hope certainly. Where do you get the belief from though? My feeling is that the England set-up needs a thorough kick-up-the-arse. It wont happen with the kind of blind devotion 'supporters' like yourself display. Blindly lapping up whatever crap the team serve up will get England knowhere. It is supporters like yourself who are damaging our national game, not helping it. You support-at-all-costs attitude legitimizes the pathetic performances of England. If the England set-up and the FA knew that there would be a nation of Herr Tubthumpers on their case if they slipped up then things would be very different. As it is they have a load of English Bulldogs clapping and supporting every missplaced pass and every hoof.
