An apology to Fulham

Quite possibly........after about 60 mins they looked visibly shaky and fatigued.

They were pressing so hard and running so much for the first hour their intensity was always going to drop at some point. CH threw the subs on at precisely the right time to take advantage of that.

Yep. I did wonder at one point - how can they keep this momentum going? Not for long was the answer.

Thought the game completely changed when they brought the big lad Smith off (68th minute). They no longer had any out ball, Duffy and Dunk started sweeping everything up and we could build a bit of momentum and pressure.

Also the lad they stuck on for him gave the ball away in the run up to one of our goals (according to a Fulham fan as I left the ground)

Justice does not exist in football, no apology needed. We had under 40% possession but came away with the points. We NEVER gave up and could have scored more in the second half, when we looked far more dangerous. We mugged them, so what, thats what champions do.
I was there and the Putney End was alive and kicking for the full 90 mins, we owned the Fulham crowd and it felt like we'd gatecrashed a cricket match, never seen a home crowd so quiet, apart from the ridiculous 'clapper' toys they had, WTF. Loved the **** on the tannoy reminding the 7000 BHA fans that this is an 'all seater stadium so please remain seated', hilarious. Full marks to the Albion and full marks to the traveling faithful. I couldn't see one bum on a seat.

Again, from my own experience, and seeing all the bollocks written about Skalak, I agree he is not our best winger. But the players seem to love him, he gives them pin point crosses. He isn't the fastest or the most exciting, but CH would not continue with someone that he saw as a liability. How many people here thought the same of Baldock? Look at that guy now. Flying.

I, personally, and of my own opinion, would put Murphy and March before Skalak but I am not watching him every day on the training pitch. I don't like his tackling and he isn't quick, or even that skillful (sounds like Beckham). But what I really get annoyed with is people on here listening to the radio and slagging of our players with absolutely no idea what the players are doing.

So, if someone who watched today said he needed to be subbed I can go with it. I personally don't think he is our no.1 start but because he can be defensive I understand why he's included. But from all accounts he defended badly so perhaps we should spend more time looking at attacking wingers, pinning back the oppo's full backs. I do feel that Knocky on one side and March on the other (or even Murphy) would rip this league a new one. I also believe, again with experience, that Sidders should be ahead in the pecking order with Norwood.

But having all those opinions, I am a supporter and not the manager. Therefore I will trust his decision. I thought his subs and times were spot on, again, CH being spot on. There are not a lot of whiners about currently, a couple logged off when we scored our second. A couple more tried to squirm their way into mainstream. If Bong and Skalak are good enough for CH, they are good enough for me, and the table doesn't lie.

So for those of you that whine behind BBC Sussex, get a life or get a new club. For those of you that go to all these away games, I have nothing but respect. And when other clubs bemoan us... up yours!

True. There was a noticeable shift in them bossing to us bossing.

Fantastic result, fantastic day.

How often have we been on the other end of a 2-1, saying we were the better side?

In the end, if, buts and maybe, only 1 stat counts, and that's the who scored the most goals, and that's us, today.

But enjoy for what it is, and move on to the next game, as I'm sure CH will do.

Norwood is clearly a decent defensive m/f... with ability to distribute... but when he is playing, we concede too much possession in my view.... Sidders is far more dynamic... Kayal will be too when he returns.

Everything looked off point in the first half. They closed out our midfield options and forced us in to risky long balls which looked "hit and hope". Sometimes we couldn't even execute simple line balls. Knocky's awful crossfield ball to Murray when the latter was through was symptomatic of a poor half which Bong, Skalak and Bruno in particular will want to forget.

For me, though, it was no coincidence that we improved as soon as Skalak went off. He's not quick enough and there's no point having a dead ball specialist on when you can't get out of your own penalty area.

When we turned it on though, we were sublime. Today was as good as I've seen either Stockdale or Dunk play for us. The absolute SCENES when we scored. I thought my ten year old was attempting a pitch invasion and we were in row ZZ!

Brilliant stuff!
I was just landing back home from my wife's family for Christmas and Fulham had scored. Got the seagulls player on my phone Playing out loud as I was too impatient to find my headphones walking through the airport to get my car. Went bonkers infront of a lot of people in a short amount of time!
What a result!m:albion2:

If you watch the highlights it appears that the lower quarter of the P1, P2 and P3 are sitting down. Loved the response to the automated tannoy though, lots of "f*** off's" and then thousands of us singing "We're Brighton Hove Albion, we stand where we want!"

We have consistently outplayed teams this season and usually (lately especially) come away with just rewards.....except against you lot! We are shit at penalties and need another striker. Ironically both your goals came after Smith came off and our new boy wonder came on. At least Smith puts a shift in in defence. At 1-0 we should have brought Parker on to steady the ship against the inevitable Albion attacks. Todays result hurts a bit less than earlier this season at your place and more than the trouncing we got last season.

Couldn't see down that far, I was halfway up P4 and all around me and above were up and at 'em. Hilarious response to tannoy boy, I nearly pissed my tights.
