Worthing have really upped their game (food offering) since they got promotion to NLS.

The club kiosk does pasties, chips, confectionery … but they now also have two outside vendors which seem to rotate. These include really top notch burgers, wood fired pizza oven … and as a decent ‘healthy’ option chicken shawarma and I think falafel/avocado.

These are all within the ground that you can access any time before and during the game!

I've has a vegetable tagine with wild rice at a couple of games this season. Very palatable and filling. There are alternatives to pie.

I think there's a fish and chip 'wagon' outside between the club shop and North Stand. You can buy some fish and take the batter off. I bought some chips there but that needed a bank loan to cover 2 portions, so I only bought one! I'm sure they'd let you bring in a salad box or something like that into the ground. They allow Haribo's .

I am thinking of this for Tuesday as in spite of another posters comment, football may be 2-3 hours long but if we aren't from Brighton and have to work, it's pretty difficult to eat and get to the match on time. What's the price of the fish and chips, I assume they accept payment by card?

Wraps with say chicken meat or vegan alternative and salad must be achievable. Jacket potatoes dont have to just be vegan. If the Potatoes arekept hot adding 1of say half doz filings cant be that difficult. For speed you could have the fillings in say plastic containers and fans top the jacket themselves.

yes they do take cards, only no cash. But i’d advise you to speak to your bank and get your credit limit upped so you can pay the prices!

Agreed I’ve got a few health issues at the moment and avoiding to much gluten & saturated fats. Probably the vegan rice thing is the only thing suitable

Normally it’d be ok but not really for evening games or the Spurs game didn’t eat until I got a takeaway when I got back at 9.30

Most of this stuff would be to the detriment of the beer queue, its difficult enough as it is, when most of the servers are temporary staff who might only be there a season.

If anything there should be fewer options to keep the queues moving faster. 1 lager, 1 ale, chicken pie, meat pie, veg pie. If you can't find anything to like in that list it's your own fault for being a weirdo!

Catering for an average 30,000 crowd versus FGR's 3,000 surely provides your answer. Beside FGR are a vegan club therefore everything is set up to cater for vegans. I wonder how the traveling FGR fans cope when visiting away grounds?

Brighton being the cool hipster place it is with amazing eateries, it's a shame The Amex doesn't cater very well. We've got the space for a decent street food market, like a hawker style, with decent food and drink options.
Piglets pantry pies are the best in the league and they should be kept, but other options added outside in my opinion.

Lol stodgy pies, our pies are probably some of the best in English football. I would say that the majority our food (except the hot dogs) are of the not crap variant. What I want is to be able to bring a kebab in, I was refused entry for my kebab at the West Ham game last season and forced to engulf it. I just think it would be an additional expense the club wouldn’t do as the demand is minimal, they could be more lenient on letting people bring their own food though, but then that just loses their own potential income. Just try sneak a Tupperware box in.

It amazes me how many seem to prefer this overpriced mediocre food / drink to watching the last five mins of the first half !!

I go for the football and may have a drink at halftime if queue reasonable.

I would like far more variety including healthy food but it's not an option at the Amex. Is this something perhaps the fan council can take up with the club. I don't want high cholestral eating stodgy pies, burgers, artificial hot dogs etc. If clubs like Forest Green can at least offer slightly more healthy and non meat food why cant the Amex cater for more diversity? You can even get a decaf cuppa tea. Stuff like that is an easy fix. I appreciate it might seem like a moan and I do appreciate that generally food is fast served its just not healthy or appealing. You cant bring much into the stadium so you are somewhat stuck unless you accept the stodge on offer. How do others feel? Thanks.

Forest Green (away end at least) was awful. Same stodge, but just (crap) vegan stodge - chips and vegan sausage rolls.

I'm very glad that the veggie pie is now vegan. I have had the veggie tagine but to be honest I thought it was a bit meh and to be honest uneccessarily fancy. Vegan burgers have come on leaps and bounds in recent years I'd like to see a vegan burger added to the mix though.
