The original NS without the corners, 112 seats across.

8 extra rows in this pic from another thread. Room for another 8?

That would be 1,792 in the NS.

200 in North East Upper and we’ve got our 2k!

How many seats per row in the north stand? If it’s about 200 (guess) then only need 5 extra rows for another 1000 seats which I think is doable if the offices are moved, depends if the structure could accommodate the extra load, the scoreboard would need rehousing too, perhaps in front of the police box as all they do it watch CCTV so why do they need windows?

Because of the 2 concrete trusses behind the stand, only 3 blocks worth can be properly extended back. Each block is 28 seats across, so it could be 94 seats across going back maybe 8 rows, plus a few extras on the sides as the trusses are angled. This could be about 800 seats.

As has been said before, we’re not sure if the roof can be held up without the structure that is currently behind the North Stand wall.

Extrapolating those heads to the back, but allowing headroom for the back row to stand - say 10 rows by 112 seats = 1,120.

But will the police/security box impinge on the available area?

Looking at this photo it’s difficult to see how the North Stand seating could be extended further back. Whilst I’m no engineer I can’t see how the vertical posts could be removed.

I would love this to happen considering I was the one who drew this months ago. It would be unbelievable really. Loads of people said we wouldn’t expand and that we shouldn’t anyway.

Going by this picture, there looks to be an natural place for a concourse behind it. It could have turnstiles with stairs leading up to it.

I don’t think so as it’s on the other side of the truss.

Hi,

Your enlarged NS adds 50% more depth. There are currently 27 rows, so your sketch gives 13 more rows.

By a beam or truss going the whole way across at the same height as the current top level of steels, resting at each end on stronger posts. Enabling adaption of the then non-roof supporting steel framework.

So, will the big screen fit on the other side of the planned extension.

Don’t think so, although there is room in the North East corner.

Seats to be put in this summer according to Churchmen:

“A club source told The Argus a planning application has been submitted to the city council.

The source said the plan to add the additional seats would go ahead this summer.”

This is a great chance to break in to the top 20. I’d be happy with 17th!

Actually 17th would be a good shout.

If England were to ever get a World Cup/Euros then being the biggest ground in the south outside of London would massively boost our chances.

The one you’ve quoted probably has more rows than the 8 I added in the cross section diagram of the North Stand.

I wasn’t really thinking about it at the time, but there might not be enough room for 13 rows on the eastern side, but there is for the western side. Could have it angled like at The Dell or Prenton Park.
