The submission kinda proves that current traffic and transport measures will be a huge deciding factor in this submission.

If you want to help the club with this, as well as writing letters and the campaigning side, here's my thoughts on how to do your bit:

1. Travel via sustainable transport. Best of all - if you can - cycle. You don't get counted as a bus, P&R, train, or parking, you add no traffic. Cycling fans basically count as 0 traffic / congestion. If not cycling, Try to turn up early as it appears to be traffic concentration is their main concern.
2. Don't park in Coldean or Moulescoomb, or basically anywhere near the stadium. The extended residents area is an appeasing act to help avoid future objections.

People who understand the travel plan will probably help expand on this (or correct me) but as far as I can see; if we make it clear that there's a travel capacity for the increased numbers, it'll happen.

Exciting times!!!

The land of chocolate
Interesting to note plans are afoot to run a shuttle bus to near the ground (as suggested by some on NSC): "the Club will trial the provision of a shuttle
service from Brighton City Centre to The Keep."

2. Don't park in Coldean or Moulescoomb, or basically anywhere near the stadium. The extended residents area is an appeasing act to help avoid future objections.

As well as (up to) 8000 more fans, all those currently parking in Coldean/Moulsecombe will have to find an alternative route......hmm...

That said, the residents parking idea I assume is something they are "offering" and the local residents can object to that without causing an issue to the overall planning application.

I'm interested to know what alternatives there are now for us coming down from the North given Mill Rd is at capacity and they, presumably, won't want the A23 traffic going through he middle of Brighton finding Mithras and the racecourse. I'm hoping a P&R near the A23, say at Pycombe or nearby would happen (unless another P&R takes the strain off Mill Road for those coming from the West). Just have to wait & see.

I spend quite a bit of the day job looking at planning applications and trying to make sense of the documents to pass on to others. It makes a change to look at one which gets me quite excited.

Genuinely FASCINATING. I could pour over this all day.

So the East stand is going to have additional levels of 1901 seating as well as the upper tier. Fabulous.

An extra 100 seats in the North - is that going to be suspended over the main North stand like they're doing in the South then ? I don't geddit.

agreed, nothing like a good saunter through the planning application on an evening

It's normal for ALL planning applications to identify people who will be directly affected by the proposals and for the applicant to advise them that they have the right to make representations to the planning authority.

This application includes proposals that will have an impact on traffic management in the vicinity of the addresses listed. The list also includes organisations that have an interest in the outcome.

Thanks! To be fair it put me in a brilliant mood!

If you get someone on your show talking about park and ride then can you ask them why it is more "sustainable" for the planet to DRIVE to a car park and then be DRIVEN to the ground instead of driving to Coldean and WALK to the ground. It simply is utter rubbish, you know it, I know we all know it, so why peddle the myth? What is more, people in Coldean have been more than happy.

It really is time for clip board carrying councillors to stop making people's life difficult. Westminster Council found this out recently and when it get to a local election, Westminster council will again find this out as people really are annoyed about their attempt to put double yellow lines all over the West End.

I dont want an hour added on my journey by park and ride. Coldean is a 10 minute walk and then I am off on my way back to London (where I live) or my parents place in Sussex.
