What's funny is that American sports are extremely popular here.

That being due to us having provided some top class players who played in their major leagues.

Surely you'd know that if you knew about US sports?

How many Brits know who Joel Freeland is?
By the way, we too have players in their major leagues:

NBA - UK 11, Aus 13
NFL - 4 each, although ours is by far the best
NHL - we have had a few down the years, but Australia barely features.
Not sure what the numbers are in MLB

Bottom line is, Australia doesn't produce noticeably more major league players than we do.

I find ELF quite amusing to be honest, but that is the exception to the rule of disliking Will Ferrell to the hilt. Anchorman i found annoyingly flat for a number of reasons, and one of those is my overall dislike for any words uttered by Stave Carell. Oh that bloke is just an awful awful "comedy" "actor". Even as an imbecile in Anchorman i have no faith in his performance. A professional tripemonger. I have it in for Paul Rudd too.

...and Anchorman 2 will be twice as bad? Never got the Will Ferrel thing. Elf was awful. HE'S JUST NOT FUNNY IS HE? These films are for people who eat at Nando's and still use Lynx.

Am I the only person to think, at first glance, that this was a thread about one of our goalkeepers?

It's not a pissing contest you know.

Simply saying that the profile of the above players you provided the stats for above is significantly different for the athletes in their home nations.

It's not a slight on either nation, it's more about the popularity of the sports among the common punters.

Shit, people only participate because it's seen as being cool. Other things include anal sex, family guy and eating at Nandos.

Entirely agree with you about Elf and Ferrell in general, never seen Anchorman and have no plans to.

OFAH is largely shit. Fawlty towers had some very funny moments one foot in the grave? Behave yourself.

Well considering it's a piece of dialogue as part of a wider joke scene and not an individual verbal joke, no, not really.

If you wrote down the classic scene from Only Fools and Horses "And derek falls through the open bar", it's not QUITE as funny is it.

Oh sorry, i thought they were quotations as thats what you made them out to be! Each to their own, you liked it, I thought it was shite. I literally remember none of it. His worst film in my eyes, although none of them have been great!

You're not alone. I thought he was mostly poor last season, especially when letting that ball through his legs against Nottingham Forest.
