Are you skinny? I remember a fitness coach telling me that skinny folk were much more susceptible to colds and flu etc.

If so, put on weight.

(I am not sure the scientific basis of this is, although it seems to be backed up from my experience!)

I had similar symptoms about two years ago. Plus I was very nervous, couldn't focus on work, lost interest in things I previously enjoyed. Anytime I excercised it took about three days to recover and it never became easier.

If your worried about it go to the docs and get some blood tests. I was diagnosed with post viral fatigue syndrome (a form of ME) after six months of blood tests.

Get it checked out

Cheers for that. I have similar symptoms to that and my lack of concentration makes doing a maths degree a whole lot harder.

6 months of blood tests though? Why such a long time to diagnose you?

ME/CFS/PVFS can only be diagnosed after eliminating other conditions hence the six months of blood tests.

My sister has an underactive thyroid and apparently it runs in the family, so yeh there's a chance of that.

Does a blood test detect everything?

no, so ask for a thyroid test. All they'll do is test your major organs are working okay.

I sympathise for you pal as been through similar myself and the doctors just make you feel like you are faking as they can't find anything. Two years later the cause was found elsewhere as being hepatitis.

I fear Meade's Ball is right as it seems to be the common link in cases I see through friends/work colleague's.

A kind of girlfriend of mine has been to her doctor in the last few days for a blood test to see if a thyroid ain't working right. So from that i would assume it must say something. They took four tubes of red from her apparently. Eek.

.

Again sadly, in a lot of cases this is true. I ended up paying for an executive health check privately and subsequent follow ups before a correct diagnosis. All in all about €1200 but worth it

I'm shit scared of the blood test. Never had one before but have to brave it :lolol: They are taking 12ml of blood, 6ml, 4ml, and 2ml for three different things. Is 12ml a lot?

I know that liver function and thyroid function are being tested aswell as full blood count. Also glucose levels (I guess for diabetes?)

now you do need to man up! :)

it's painless, it's one needle into the blood stream while they fill up different vials.
