Too damn good to ignore any further. Scoring goals in one of the best Albion teams we've ever seen. My ROCK in midfield.

And my next pick is a true Albion legend:

Over 330 games. Manager. And responsible for THIS MOMENT (at 7:59):

Was on my shortlist too.

Me too. Strange isn't it. You have a couple of choices in a position and then you see one of your fellow competitors take the player and you're automatically wishing you'd picked that player in the last draft.

I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board.

Going to give stripeyshark a couple more hours to post his next player as I think its a little unfair when the 10 hours is overnight

Right I guess stripeyshark can't get online at the moment so to keep things moving I'll do my next one and he can jump in when he's next online

Its time for my left winger to be named. He played before my time but I'm sure many of the more mature Albion suporters remember him with fondness. He was signed by Brian Clough and Peter Taylor and was a big help to Peter Ward during his record breaking season. He played a total of 122 games and scored 31 goals. He also scored a hat trick in that famous Ward 4 Mellor 3 thrashing 7-0 of Walsall on 5 October 1976. It could have been the other way around as one shot hit both posts and Wardy put the loose ball in the net. He played under Brian Clough/Peter Taylor, Peter Taylor and Alan Mullery so I assume that counts as three different managers.

If nothing else he deserves a place due to this -
He remembers his first match for the club avidly. Old rivals Crystal Palace, whose success in recent years has matched Albion’s, were the opponents at the Goldstone, 25,000 fans were there, and as Ian relates it: ‘Palace were running all over us. It was remarkable that they weren’t about three goals up. Then in the second-half I got the ball some 35 yards out, went on a run, beat a couple of players and scored probably the most memorable goal of my life.’

Albion won 1-0, and if justice wasn’t exactly served by the scoreline, Mellor himself could not have had a better introduction to the south coast fans.

Category 3 - Has received a full International cap during his career. GARY STEVENS

Category 6 - Played in at least 4 different seasons for Brighton JOHN KEELEY
Category 7 - Has never been promoted or relegated with Brighton KURT NOGAN
Category 8 - Has been loaned to Brighton WAYNE BRIDGE
Category 9 - Has scored 10 or more goals in a season for Brighton GLENN MURRAY
Category 10 - Has played under 3 different managers during his Brighton career IAN MELLOR
Category 11 - Has played a home game for us at two or more stadiums
