That buffet last night was very poor though. Seriously poor. Sweet and sour chicken should be sticky, honey, like...not a watery soup with cubed chicken in it. The spring rolls were stodge, the crackers stale. And the battered deep friend prawns looked like some pre-formed died orange crap from Iceland.

The satay as appalling also.

I'm not even in 1901 but that comment is pretty lame.

I agree....maybe i've bee a little harsh and shouldn't be as damning of the 1901 guys....but I am so fed up with people moaning about what is wrong and what they haven't got. Some people have seriously short memories. If people expected it to be perfect from the off they have very unreasonable expectations. If it's still like this at christmas then fair enough. All i want is for people to give the club a chance.

It was a condition of the Bennetts Field planning permission that the Club funded a re-design / re-build of the Village Way junction and a revised phasing of the traffic signals.

The latter has yet to be undertaken and as per the BF planning consent and the recent LDC discharge notice, the club has until the end of September to complete this.

Many thanks for that Mr Dawson, clarifies a number of issues and more importantly shows that the issue of the village way traffic lights is being addressed.

I see.

The presumption that most of the 1901-ers will hang back after the game for a post-match jolly is a reasonable one, but this probably won't be so much the case on midweek games (and certainly not those that go into ET).

It looks like people will have to suffer a little inconvenience - just like corporate fans at other modern grounds. If 1901ers need to get away early for some special reason, it looks like they will have to make other arrangements to get to and from the ground.

Why oh why do we attract so many moaners to our Club? We have one of the best grounds in the country - and they still moan!

How do people think the Amex situation compares with other clubs?

I went to Cardiff and although getting away after wasn't too bad, getting TO the stadium was a nightmare. At Stoke last year it took at least an hour to get out of their car park after the game. It seems that the Amex P&R is working well and the trains are not too bad. I personally think the Amex experience is first class. Bennets field only takes 600 cars so a huge minority are inconvenienced at present. I say stop moaning and wait for things to settle down.

I remember a fans united game or maybe the Zamora hat-trick game at Chester City when there were only a few thousand in their tiny stadium. It still took almost an hour to get away from the industrial estate it was on.

I agree, It took me an hour to get out of the car park at Bournemouth and Peterborough. It took me nearly an hour at Portsmouth getting parked and getting out again.
As someone has already posted it is the same at the Walkers stadium and the O2. Part and parcel of big crowds for me.
My only complaint last night was the fact the club want fans to stay to ease this situation, as I did for the Gillingham game, but when the game was over all the bars were already shut, so everyone went.
If the club need us to stay, then they will have to look at this when extra time is played and warn staff that overtime may be needed or just keep one bar open on each concourse.

Anyone ever tried getting out of the carpark next to the ground at YEOVIL (after a crowd of about 4,500). That took us nearly an hour.

It was like some kind of sick JOKE.

That is right. It is no good moaning about the time it takes to get out. However, I am sure constructive comments about extended opening times (and more revenues) will be welcome.

It will have to be a slick transport operation this time next year, if they get 30,000 (to some games), using the same road & rail.

Being completely unable to leave the ground until an hour and a half after full time because of mismanagement IS a massive pain in the arse. Especially when you pay a lot of money for the so-called privilege of having a space. There were ZERO stewards in that car park after 10:45 last night and they were very badly needed to stop all of the ass holes pushing their way to the front and causing more chaos.
Well you should have run for your car (dads car sorry) at 90 mins like I did - out in 5 mins!:lolol:

I went with an Arsenal season ticket holder last night and was telling him about all the transport issues. He laughed and just said what do you expect when youve got over 15,000 people trying to get out of the same place at the same time, Emirates 100 x worse. However, Bennetts Field is an ill-conceived solution in the wrong place. I did find it odd that the stadium was ever allowed to be built without a major rebuilding of the flyover bridge and roads in and out both to the west and east (crucially without them having to cross each other - i.e. split level).

My biggest issue is the lack of communication coming out of the Club - why can't they publish what Mr Dawson has for us above so everyone knows what to expect - people can then plan accordingly.
