Long term savings on his contracted wages must be huge though. A huge financial boost for the club for him to go.

I do agree with a number of comments above, really a terrific pro with a great attitude. He had some great cameos, just a shame for one reason or another it never fully kicked off for him here.

This……

Still in Brighton
Obviously I'm not speaking for BB, but the separate thread was clearly unnecessary as Ali J's signing thread is one of the most high profile one here.
Then there's the name, whether the OP mean't it or not, it's easy to put a patronising spin on 'comedy' nickname attached to a 'is leaving' rumour thread.
Just all a bit eye rolling and lacking in class and respect, somewhat unfortunate if that threads OP was just going for a light touch - (t'is something I frequently fall foul of)

Salde?

Shame he didn’t quite come up to expectations here, not his fault as the effort was definitely there just didn’t happen for him.
Best of luck in your new venture Alireza, hope you turn it around and are a resounding success there just don’t come back and make us regret anything.

Good luck.

If indeed this is happening !!

Shame but best for all. Not enough 5 game spells and last time was given a run was left out after playing well. On top of that when picked again played CF. Appreciate had injuries but if only he had as much game time as Connelly but of course can only pick 11

"Feyenoord has Alireza #Jahanbakhsh in. The Rotterdam club pays a total of 4.5 million euros in 2 installments for the Iranian right winger. #BHAFC wanted to cooperate because of the hefty salary he earned, he has lost a lot of money at Feyenoord",

If accurate, looks like he's taken a pay cut. Still, his bank balance should look very healthy after his stay here! Looking back to the start of this thread, it started in 2015 - didn't he turn us down then? If he did, it was probably a bad decision on his part - might he have established himself when we were in the Championship?

Anyway, if he really has gone to Feyenord, it's good news. I'll wait for the official announcement though ................!

Good news for all if true. We get some cash back and clear a hefty salary from the books. Ali gets to return to a league where he experienced great success before. Such a shame it didn't work out for him here, a model professional, a decent bloke and a player who showed in all too brief flashes that he could be a player for us. Sadly he could not string together enough good performances to make it stick.

if this is indeed legit. All the best Ali.

He initially turned us down, because allegedly he felt he wasn't strong enough to compete in league football in this country, but twelve months later, when we came calling again, he decided to say yes.

Perhaps his earlier decision was the better one, he should have stayed where he was. Good on him for giving the Premier League a go though. It doesn't suit everybody.

He joined us three years after this thread started, not twelve months. Perhaps he only wanted to join us when we were in the PL? - which is why I think he might have made a mistake; the transition from the Eredevise to the Championship might not have been too big a step for him, as transferring straight to the PL certainly was.

I'm not so sure personally, certainly the Championship can be very full on too. Arguably even more so than the Premier League, a slight step down from the skill perspective perhaps, but it can be faster and with less room available to demostrate your skills.

I guess we will never know the answer to the original question.

When he does go he goes with my best wishes. A model professional it seems and an all round good guy. I’m sad that it didn’t work out for him, I like him and he always gives 100% with the occasional flash of brilliance. Best crosser of the ball at the club too

Out of all the players, he was the one to provide me with a happy birthday video message for my Dad's 60th, because of that he will always be a special Brighton player to me! That and the bicy :albion2:

Best of luck Ali.
