Hope he enjoys his 10 games in charge, and negotiates a decent payoff in his contract.

You're surely joking?! How has he got another job?

I would be seriously pissed off if I was a Forest fan. Replacing a decent manager who plays good football with that! Great news for us and other teams trying to make the play offs though.

I would be seriously pissed off I was a Forest fan and he was appointed as manager mind you I would also if Roy Keane was appointed as is speculated in the papers today. IMHO they woulD have done better to have stuck with Sean O'Driscoll

What has McLeish done in English football to deserve another chance? He took Birmingham up to the Premier League but also took them down twice and was awful at Villa (although it does look like Lambert is struggling there too). Would be gutted if I was a Forest fan if they appointed him. They must have been on a real high yesterday lunchtime after stuffing Leeds and then this happens!

A treble in Scotland's, 2 SPL titles , got promotion to the premier league with Birmingham, then won the carling cup with Birmingham, also was the first manager since 1993 to get a Scottish team to the last 16 of the Champions League.

He may well have not done well at Villa and Scotland but there aren't many managers in this league that have won more than him.

A treble in Scotland is NOT worth shouting about, especially as it's now known that Rangers were sepnding WAY out of their depth.

Promoted with Birmingham is good but was about par with the squad he had.

He won the carling cup in the season he was relegated. Thats not a good thing in the slightest. You can fluke a cup. You can't fluke a relegation.

I would say he is f***ing atrocious, personally.

Winning the SPL/Scottish cups then with either Rangers or Celtic was no achievment at all, he also relegated Brimingham twice and nearly did the same with Villa. His brand of football is not good and the Carling cup aside which Arsenal gifted them, his record is poor and there should be many other managers who deserve a good job before him. Although whether you would class Forest as a good job with those owners and their treatment of O'Driscoll I don't know.

No chance of promotion for them now. What a ridiculous sacking and appointment. That's foreign owners who don't have an emotional connection to the club for you - thank goodness for Tony Bloom.

Poor negative tactics/style of football....... Feel sorry for any club that has to go through what Villa did..... Hope they are looking forward to 1 in the oppositions box and the rest in their own....

I'd be gutted if I was a notts forest fan. He's as bad as mark Hughes and Roy Keane.

He won the carling cup because van persie went off injured. Luck was certainly on their side that day as arsenal gifted them a winnng goal as well.

I watch a lot of midlands football - at Blues he was incredibly negative in the way he set the side up getting more and more so as results went against them so that when they had to go out and get results, although they had skill aplenty, they couldnt change the defensive mentality. Much the same thing happened at Villa. Nice bloke and good company socially but not the man I would choose if I wanted crowd pleasing football.

Their best bet will be if he can get Black to join him now he has got the bullet at Blackburn. He is a good coach.
