Booze and fags seem to be the staple diet of a huge swath of our society but we allow it because we make huge amounts out of it,does this make it right?
A sports club like the albion could take the initiative on this one and promote a healthy lifestyle to the community,i for one would applaude this:clap: What about healthy food outlets instead of the burger/pie/chips mush thats on offer:moo:

Are you going to ban everyone with a BMI over 25 as well? Or you could make everyone run around the outside of the stadium and should they be unable to do it under a certain time (adjusted for age), they would be refused entry.

Me thinks, Mr Rev, that you are being a bit cheeky. :D

It's amazing how quickly the smoking ban has been accepted as par for the course over there now. There is one here as well, but it is mostly ignored (like most of the laws in this country!!)

I don't drink booze but wouldn't want to deny anyone who likes a pint the right to have a drink at the ground. The club is going to make a fortune selling Harveys at £4.50 a throw.

I was at Pride Park a couple of years ago, when the smoking ban came in, they let smokers out of the stadium at half time.
I thought this was an excellent idea, seeing as i am a smoker. Nobody else is even interested in going outside at half time, so you are not affecting anyone else.
It also stops the toilets from becoming a smokers den!

Maybe the Albion should consider this instead of joining the ban culture.

At Rovers they had a smoking area in the ground. That'd be my vote.

Rev,are you taking the mickey or something?
Booze and fags are not the staple diet of huge swathes of society. Many people do not smoke at all and most people drink responsibly. Are you saying that if 'huge amounts' of money were not made(by the Government,I assume you mean)then we would not tolerate such 'nasty habits'?
What has happened to freedom of choice and personal responsibility in the land of the Rev?You won't HAVE to drink yourself into a stupor or stuff yourself with pies at Falmer.I would be all in favour of healthy food being available at the stadium, but give people a choice as to whether they buy that or the pies!If you don't want alcohol,I am sure tea, coffee and soft drinks will all be available too!:nono:

One downside of people drinking beer at football will be large amounts of them getting up to go to the lav more frequently during the game itself which can be rather annoying to say the least.

Bearing in mind a key part of the stadium business plan is the revenue generated by the Cardinal's drinking spend, it is paramount that cider at least, is served in the ground.

This. We can kiss goodbye to any £15M training facilities otherwise.

Yes ban it. We can't have people enjoying themselves can we ?. Not in this day and age. Whatever next ?. I will certainly give everyone a piece of mind who I see enjoying a pint with their mates before the game. It SHOULD NOT be allowed. Also I would ban smoking, well obviously and pelt anyone with a fag with 100 metres of Falmer with Eggs, I would also ban any junk food or confectionery and install a height/weight monitor when you go in and if your BMI is over 25 refuse entrance.

I don't know the wording of the law, but that sounds illegal to me.

Could be legal to have an outdoor area set aside for smoking, if so then there is no reason for not allowing this at Withdean!
Pride Park, as i stated earlier, is entirely enclosed as will the Amex be, i just think its better to let people out for a ciggy than have all the smokers taking up the cubicles in the toilets.

West Brom's away end is gated around the outside so you can have a drink/fag/food there, rather than blocking up the concourse. Good idea imo.
