For Christmas I asked for and got CD'S of all the early Fairport Convention albums which I have on vinyl but never play, especially 'Unhalfbricking' and 'Liege and Lief'. Just fallen back in love with Sandy Denny .....

Gosh that takes me back - bought it from the record shop in Crowborough High Street I think, vinyl album and I believe that it is a soundtrack to the film of the same name (just Wiki'd it, film released in August '79 and the debut of Ray Winstone) - it was marked down in a sale! It wasn't the yellow vinyl version and I have no idea what happened to it but it contains absolute classics from that era.
Ive just checked the back of the album sleeve and it does give mention to the great Ray Winstone.

Wheel's on Fire - Cream

Bought it on vinyl in 1967, and on CD about two weeks before Christmas. One Studio Album and one Live album, including the track "Crossroads", which led John Peel to comment "and now tell me there are only three of them!" And the Studio Album includes tracks like White Room and Politician. I feel it has really stood the test of time.

Today I've been listening to Leo Sayer's "Just A Boy".

Wow! Released nearly 40 years ago, must be 25 years since I last heard it. Every line is embedded in my brain - hope no-one could hear me singing along in the car.

Whilst a big rock fan I've never much cared for Ozzy Osborne particularly all the bullshit reality show and his plastic faced hag . However, just rediscovered The Ultimate Sin album realised its all about the great guitar work of Jake E Lee

Highway to hell. Picked it up on a nostalgia whim...by god Bon Scott was the real deal, it's a regular in the car now.
Cracking album, easily my favourite AC/DC album.

For me, I have just recently obtained the 'Experience' edition of 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd (the first time I have had a copy of this for about twenty years). Brilliant album, helped in no end by the lovely 2011 remaster.

Next up will probably be 'De La Soul is Dead' although having seen Meade's Ball's post above perhaps it's time to buy another copy of one of the best rock albums ever, aka 'Angel Dust' by Faith No More.

Bat out of hell

Yep. Definitely a guilty pleasure that I've rediscovered recently too. I'd go for some of the following that I've listened to this last year for the first time in yonks:

Human League - Dare
Morrissey - Bona Drag
New Order - Technique
Guru - Jazzmatazz
Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go
Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue
Jungle Brothers - Straight Out the Jungle
Eels - Nacho Libre

Springsteen - Disk 2 of The River - didn't love it when it came out, certainly do now.

The Jam - Sound Effects - every track a winner.
