how can anyone go years without listening to Innervisions!

that's like forgetting to breathe

I realise that now...all I'll say in my defence is that I listened to it to death about 10 years ago and, like too much of anything, it put me off it a bit. I had the same thing happen with sandwich spread and cider (not mixed together).

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

'Dark side of the Moon' Pink Floyd. Hadn't listened to it for ages, indeed I don't even own a copy now, but I watched a programme on it on TV a few weeks ago. What a brilliant album.

A year or so ago at a friends I heard 'Hamberburger Concerto' by Focus and 'Selling England by the Pound' by Genisis. Two absolutely superb albums: the early-mid 1970s was easily the best, most diverse and most creative era for British music. What a pity punk had to come along a reduce everything to three guitars and a drum going thump bang crash. Thank heavens for ambient trance.

Oddly enough, I've just dug out Beastie Boys, Ill Communication and Check Your Head and have been listening to both all morning.

Slayer - 'Seasons in The Abyss' , not sure it works unless your 18 and going through a 'rebellious' phase. It was played to death at the time though. Halcyon Days ...

Yeah!!!!

Her husband works in jodrell bank, he's home late in the morning,

Had he been a lawyer, he wouldn't work for pennies.

In the morning i go walking, it helps the hurting soften,

I've seen a lot of places, 'cos i miss her very often.

But i could never work there, what a shame that i'm not clever,

It's for men with horn rimmed glasses, and four distinguished "a level" passes.

the best thing about moving home is the stuff you find that you'd forgotten about

a good example:

100 or so LPs that I haven't listened to for the thick end of a decade

Some might say that's one of the best CDs ever. I would agree.

seconded, thirded, forthed, whatever

a solid gold 5* classic album that fully deserves a place alongside Screamedelica, Stone Roses, Queen is Dead, Bandwagonque, Wonderland et al as the cream of British music

Oasis and Blur - MY HAIRY ARSE - the introduction alone to 'She Said' is far more essential than their entire oevre

to clarify, I'm on about the Longpigs - that wasn't a response to the phrase 'some might say' a song that is a turgid piece of doggerel
