Happy In The Hollow is Toy’s fourth and strongest album to date. Well worth a listen.

Repeated listens ... Having referred the record to people who's opinions I respect, having played it during a couple of pub shifts.....

The Mercury Rev / Bobbie Gentry thing is great.

People love it.

I love it.

Gotta say the new album by ‘The Specials’ - Encore is rather bloody fantastic!

Finally got round to listening to Julia Holter’s Aviary. 90 minutes of brilliance. Playing at Hove Marketplace in June.

Theon Cross FYAH is a welcome new addition to my collection. It's tubatastic.
I know it's from last year, but I recently got my mitts on Jon Spencer Sings the Hits and I agree with Marc Riley that it was one of 2018's AotY.

It’s an incredible album. It really is. And a message to everyone. Do Not Miss The Chance To See Her Perform This Album Live.

I’ve just discovered Teeth of The Sea via their excellent new long player called Wraith. And the good thing about this discovery is they have 4 albums before this I can listen to!

My hunch is that you'll love the Theon Cross -- he's the tuba player in Sons of Kemet.
I think this might be the best Spencer album I've come across (but your knowledge/exposure of his stuff might well say otherwise).

I’ll check out Theon. Sounds good and really like Sons of Kemet.
My Jon Spencer affectation dates back to the Pussy Galore days, :rave:

... which just makes me very old!

I know I'm way late here but this would have been close to my album of 2018 if I'd heard it then.

Ritualisitic, angry, noise-pop (with the emphasis on noise tbh) by 4 women from Leicester. Suppose it isn't a million miles away from 2nd/3rd Liars album territory.

'Recognise' is a bit of a statement imo.
