In that case check out F Ingers - Awkwardly Blissing Out on the same label which also involves Dal Forno.

That is simply brilliant. Thanks. If you've got any other suggestions then I'll be eternally grateful. Also, anything in a similar vein to artists like Anika on Geoff Barrow's Invada Records.

If I can return the favour, I stumbled across this track last night and although musically, it's not anything particularly jaw-dropping, the lyrics are something else. I've not come across anything quite so brutally honest in a long while. The opening lines are: 'What if my dog died when I was in Tokyo, What if dad died before I was twenty-four.' They're a Swedish band called Wy, they've an EP out v.soon and they've been in touch via Twitter to let me know they will have a Bandcamp page in the very near future too.

Heard 4 or so tracks so far from this, promises to be one of the albums of the year for me. Out 29/9.

Although mostly in Welsh, the openness and eloquence of the English poetic lyrics combined with wonderful music make this album of the year for me. Learning Welsh next week now. Check the 6 Music appearance on Sunday. A masterpiece.

Some new tracks released in the last few days.

St Vincent - 'Pills'. Guest appearances from Jenny Lewis and St Vincent's ex Cara Delevingne. (Pop trivia - Cara went to school with Marika Hackman whose new album is surely one of the stand-outs of 2017).I'm not sure about this one, the jury's still out on this song.

Belle and Sebastian have rolled back the years with this retro-sounding tune. It's quite lovely

And First Aid Kit 'It's A Shame' is my current earworm.

She is doing the vocals on the Exploded View track above. She also teamed up with Shackleton on what is possibly my favourite album this year. The album is divided by the sides on the vinyl as opposed to individual tracks which are listed but drift into each other. Cheers for the recommendation I often listen in to yours when posted on here.

Much of what I discover ends up on my mixcloud mixes which I currently upload monthly.

Likewise and I enjoy your mixes a lot. Sorry, I should leave more feedback. I have a strange relationship with Shackleton. Some of his music, I find hypnotic and impossible to put down. Other times I find him unlistenable. My fave Shackleton track is the Ricardo Villalobos remix of 'Blood On My Hands' and clocks in at 19 minutes!

The Marika Hackman album is in danger of getting played to death in the pub. I note that she's playing at the Haunt next month and it's PEANUTS (well,£11).
I'm strongly tempted to go but fear I may be far too old.

First couple of listens to the St. Vincent album and I'm impressed. All sorts of influence in there - modern pop music, Bowie, Prince and those jazz licks she did so well on the last LP. I have a feeling like all her stuff its going to be a major grower.

FFO - Brian Eno, Tycho

So much electronic music is by the numbers, copy and paste atmosphere nowadays, attractive female singer with breathy meaningless vocals. This isn't. This is genuinely creative, well thought-out electronic music.

Absolutely gorgeous, blissful album. So warm and soothing, like a(lan's) deep electronic bath. Big recommend.

Right, that's convinced me to get her new one. I wrote yesterday that I'm still not sold on her latest single and I too was a big fan of her last album so I was fearing a big let down.

Whilst I'm here, has anyone else heard Waxahatchee's album? I posted about it a month or two back and was listening to it on the way home today and once again blown away with how good it is. I think she and her sister will be big news soon. Also, wondering if anyone's heard the Kurt Vile/Courtney Barnett collaboration?
