You are of a similar age than me although, given that I prefer Joy Division (and obsessed about them in my teenage years) to New Order, I'm probably three years older than you. But you have a greater understanding and depth of knowledge of music than I.
Haven't seen any of those videos.

Born in 1969. I do like Joy Division but they never got to me in the same way as New Order. I've got a much younger brother however who is completely obsessed with Joy Division. I chatted with him on Sunday evening and he was almost in tears having seen New Order play 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' at the Flow Festival in Helsinki.

The Jubilee Street video is no great shakes although it does star Ray Winstone. The video is NSFW though. The Flaming Lips/Erykah Badu story is far more interesting. The video that was the cause of the scandal is definitely NSFW.

I didn't want to say so either but I completely agree. And another reason for thinking that the new album will be a belter is that he hasn't been anywhere near as prolific since Push The Sky Away as he was before.

I didn't want to say this either, but also agree.

The similarities continue

Currently enjoying Modern Dancing by TRAAMS which I bought on impulse as it was playing in Resident. It's really quite good in a punkish way. I may go see them at the Concorde.

Also picked up Metronomy - Summer 08 which is FINE.

Please stop me if I'm going to in depth with these reviews.

Currently listening to Mr Misunderstood by Eric Church. If there's one genre of music i really dislike it's country. Yet this album is very much in that vein, but love these tracks.

I was actually in tears watching this at Latitude. But then my eyes were also moist during Tilted by Christine and the Queens and Scattered Ashes by Minor Victories. Doesn't take much for me to be overcome by beautiful music, much to my teenage son's embarrassment.

I'm loving the Minor Victories album; I'm seeing them soon as well.

My Spotify Discover playlist is pumping out the bangers today.

This one is released last year but actually recorded in 2007, a Soulwax komische/kraut/spacerock side project called Die Verboten. Can image this being particularly up Herr T's Straße.

If you start to get impatient live drums kick in around the 7:00 mark.

Thanks for this. I remember reading about it but totally forgot about it.

Local (ish) types as well. Started in Chichester, moved to Brighton, now in London I think. They played one of the first gigs we ever put on

Sound quality is terrible in that video btw...
