Albums that stand the test of time

I'd suggest in that case your thread is meaningless. OK whatever that Beach Boys album was that had all the wizzy harmionies and everything probably stands up today as having pretty decent production values (and no doubt WORLD CLASS in their time as Paul Gambiccini would no doubt tell us, were he to be alive today - which he probably is, somewhere on BBC digital Radio 7 or something)

My point is: no such thing as 'timeless' as regards an album. No rgight, and no wrong (tho I YEARN for London Irish to be on here and tell me otherwise  )

Your opinion.

It was 40 years today that Sargeant Pepper told the band to play ....

I heard it on the news,

and then I had a smoke, and went off in a dream

Definitely.

If you like Meat Loaf, I reckon you'll like it.

A fair few of the songs on there have been sung by Meat at some point in time (Lost Boys And Golden Girls, Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through to name but two), but definitely worth a listen IMO.

As well as being a great writer, Jim's a pretty good vocalist (although his voice isn't as powerful as Meat's obviously) in his own right.

The album is called 'Bad For Good', btw.

Great Album!!!! Steinman was supposed to record Bat Out of Hell but he had a motorcycle accident (look at who wrote songs and produced the album). Stýenman was the brains behind Meatloaf, and, much less successfully, Bonnie Tyler.

I think you have misread the question. it is not "which albums can't you stand" :)

Are they the same Soul Asylum who had one big hit with 'Runaway Train'?

Yes thats the one, and that is the album it came from, although perhaps it's on of the weaker songs on the album. Also has to be said, they formed in 1981 and still going now, and yet that is the only song of their's that made it big over here
