What have attendances been like for their games held at The Amex in recent years? That probably gives a decent benchmark to go from.
6-7k, which with the new planned stadium by all accounts is similar to what they are planning with maybe a bit extra capacity for expansion, I think if the games were regularly in Brighton people would buy into it and go a lot more IMO.

8,369 at the Amex in mid-October for the visit of Manchester United.

With the team doing so well, there's no reason that West Ham's visit on Sat 16th November couldn't see similar, especially during the international break.

You're probably right. I live in Mid Sussex and I can't really be arsed with Crawley even though it's, what, a 20 minute drive for me.

I've never really been bothered by watching the women's team but I'm starting to think about it this season (yeah, I know: bad fan) therefore I'm sure plenty of others must be in a similar boat. I might go to the West Ham game if I'm not working that weekend.

Oh and anyone sniffing at attendances of 6,000 for an Albion team must have a very short memory....

That is a weird stat. Were there underlying factors?

According to this (https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/match-reports/match-report-crystal-palace-women-brighton-wsl/) it was a record attendance at Sutton.

Both Palace's other home games this season have been at Selhurst against Chelsea where they lost 7-0 and Man City which was a 3-0 loss. The Chelsea game was their first home game at WSL level so would have drawn a bigger interest.

. I see they only charge £10 now for womens games and STs are ridiculously cheap. Surely they would have to increase. if in a new stadium. What do the Arsenals Chelsea charge ?

I noticed Fran Kirby came on for England against the US the other day. Is that the first time ever that Albion have had a current (women's) player make an appearance for England?

Apparently Fran picked up an injury so withdrew from last nights England squad. I've seen conflicting reports that its a flare up of an existing knee injury or a new calf injury. Will be a shame if it means shes out of the Brighton squad for awhile as shes been very good for us this season.

So good in fact, shes been nominated for November Player of the Month. Vote here : https://www.thepfa.com/fpotm/wsl

Weigman is quoted as saying:

""Unfortunately, they picked [injuries] up during the game. Chloe is into the concussion protocol, she had that knock, and unfortunately, Fran picked up a calf injury."

The BEEB says it's a knee injury (without any source) so I'm going with calf!

Whatever it is, I hope she comes back soon. SFK is, IMO, the best player to wear the stripes and I think our results and league position this season are in huge part due to her influence. But this is what happens when players are picked to play in meaningless friendlies.

It wasn’t a meaningless friendly for the 23,000 in attendance.

At £25 a ticket, I’d expect to see the top players playing.
