It will be a big loss, despite people tearing into him every week on here, he is still our club captin and a very good player. But, if he's not signing the contract and hes holding out for a championship club then we dont have much choice

Wait for Andy Naylor and his "What do you think of Dick Knight for doing this to the Albion?" question.

The guy loves to shit stir.

With the signing of Thomson I think we already have a more experienced replacement. I will be sad to see Hammond go, but this has obviously been going on some time. O'Callaghan mentioned this didn't he?

Absolutely. As often seems to happen in the Argus, the headline is sensational but the article says nothing like it.

Shame, but I don't really think Uncle Dick has a choice in this one. We ought to get something for him, even if it is a hundred grand. :nono:

If we get £100k i will be absolutely amazed. Is Dean Hammond, in his current inconsistent form, worth £100k for half a season, when they could have him on a free? Will be lucky to get £50k IMO

never in a million years , wouldnt be worth selling .

he aint worth it imo but the case is -

time invested from youth
goals he's scored from midfield each and every season

Based on those facts we WILL get at least 150k + add ons

like i say , he isnt a championship player but we will get that

There is no case as he's over the age limit so goes on a free at the end of his contract. We have to settle for the best we can get before then.

He has talent but is inconsistant. if he was serious about the Championship then, as captain, he should have been driving this team on to win in every game. But just how many games has he taken and dictated the play?

It would be nice if he stayed, a local lad and 9 years coming through the ranks, but, if he want's to follow O'c, Bas, Bertin etc then fine. Seema like he won't be leading Albionout at falmer.

I know which one I would like to be the first on the pitch at Falmer DK or DH my choice woud be wearing the captains armband.

I couldn't give a f*** who is first on the pitch at Falmer as long as we get a pitch! Captains change more frequently than home strips. We have plenty of other candidates if we cash in on Hammond's itchy feet.

Although I agree with you, by the time DK gets Falmer built, Hammond will be 47...!

You missed my point I would rather Hammond stay and if anybody goes it be Knight as I do not think that with him still in charge we will ever be able to afford Falmer. Hopefully DK will retire on his laurels and hand over to somebody else, dont ask me who, before all the good work he has done in the past is clouded by his actions now.

Seems like we are on the receiving end of the out of contract system this time. Hammond should be going for something getting close to a million but with his contract being up we will be lucky to get 100k.

You win some, you lose some.
