There are some things more important than cash. Archer has slaughtered this club - its because of him we are playing at an athletics track in a nature reserve. He can stuff his f***ing sponsorship money up his arse. All of it.

** Goes away to picture the image of sixty thousand pounds forcibly inserted into Archer’s rectum. **

Preferably in small change, with the edges sharpened.

Congratulations to Dick Knight for having the balls to make such a decision. He is a man of great honour and I am proud to have him as chairman of the club - a true fan.

To accept the money would have been to make a mockery of all the efforts of the fans and the Consortium to rid this club forever of this odious man. Anyone who thinks we should accept his money either has a very short memory or was not around when he, Stanley and Belotti were shitting all over the club we love.

I am glad that we turned it down, whats £60k in the grand scale of £2million. It is not just the advertising board it is the fact they get free tickets (to a allready over crowded Withdean), can use our badge and name etc it adverts plus a few other bits.

The man cost us our, home and we got a bill for £1million for the prevalige. (£700,000 to oust him + £300,000 capital gains tax from sellling the Goldstone.)

The bloke can stick his £60 which is spread over 3 years by the way, somewhere where the sun don't shine.

This news has made my morning.
One of the great things about being a Brighton supporter is that we follow a club that draws, to the best of its ability, a high moral line. We see enough of Archer's legacy without having his wealth smeared in our cold, wet, wintry faces each week.

How the League can be so insensitive as to negotiate this deal with Wickes is beyond me.

Or maybe not. It's another symptom of how the football authorities are driven by money and remember NOTHING, while football fans are driven by something quite different and remember EVERYTHING.

Incidentally, Fourteenth Eye, the conclusion that we came to in our discussion last night - "there will be dissenters" - doesn't yet seem to have been proved right. So far, no dissenters have posted on NSC.

Interesting point wardywonderland, but I don't know what to think. We need money, the club needs to progress and succeed and we can't keep being sentimental - the club is a business that is in deep shit.

I don't know what to think. On one hand I'm glad that we haven't taken it but then I also think we should have swallowed our pride a bit and just taken it. £60,000 is a lot of money, especially at a time like this.

There's being sentimental and there's being realistic.

Makes me so proud of the club, the board and the Chairman.

We have shown the football world that, sometimes, integrity is more important than money.

Sadly the football world won't care or even notice.

If it was 600k in one payment now I'd have taken it, burnt the signs, not allowed Wickes employees near the ground and sent Archer a letter bomb for good measure.

However 60k OVER THREE YEARS is an insult, it's like disdainfully flinging a few coppers at a begger.

:clap2: Dick Knight and the board. And I'm sure they will make the most of this chance to tell their colleagues why! :clap2:

If we'd have taken the money and then reneged on the agreement by not advertising Wickes we'd have been sued and taken to the cleaners by Archer and his cronies. That's just what we need right now isn't it?
