There is always theold adage of "never go back because it rarely works a second time". Add that to living in London, better wages, a better ground, better fans and better footballing prospects and I could just see him making the otherwise entirely unjustifiable decision to go to Millwall ahead of us:D

"but the 32 year old midfielder is likely to sign for another league one club" I assume thats Millwall? We should be able to match Millwall for wages and we seemingly arent scared of giving 30 plusses a decent length contract so why is it assumed that he's going there?
'cos it's probably Naylor reporting, and still getting his goat up about his golfing partner (thanks for the phrase Naylor) leaving.

Then again it could just be true...but that would ruin the Naylor is always a wanker with an agenda NSC posters' vendetta

Point to one transfer speculation this summer where Naylor has said, "Albion sure to fight off competition for XXXXXX". He's not said anything positive this off-season, so until he starts having a mixed opinion then I'll continue to slag the guy off. I've even stopped buying the Argus 'coz of his drivel.

Better to live in Brighton, IMHO (I've done both)
Better wages - don't know
Better ground - yes
Better fans - like fcuk
Better footballing prospects - we'll see, depends who we sign, at the moment, yes

Plus, better the devil you know...
A few people booing him in a game he played against us will make fcuk all difference, IMHO...

Why not still buy the Argus and don't read his drivel as you call it.:glare:

Have to agree with this... Naylor suggests we have zero chance with just about any signing... well, this summer we have already made 2 class signings... long may it continue...

London a better place than Brighton? I know where I'd rather live.

It must be pretty depressing for Naylor, his career hasn't progressed really over the last few years - local sports writer for the local rag, maybe he is bitter as his aspirations to join one of the nationals just hasn't happened.

Or maybe it is because instead of being in the office getting work done he is always on the golf course with that clown Magoo.

Back to the subject in hand, I don't think Currie will come for all the reasons stated above, shame as he would be quality.

I for one LOVED currie when he was here!

Ok fair enough first game I thought he was a joke with his speed, or lack of should I say. But he is still a great player with the ball!

Currie come back! Currie come back!

This was also said about Whing and Forster and they both are Albion players now. It could be that the club, mindful of being accused of raising expectations in the past, are playing down the chances of him joining. He'd certainly be another great signing.

Excuse the analogy, but....having just been tipped out of a boat sailing into sunnier and more exotic climes, does anyone believe they would settle for a dinghy rowing it' way to some rock where it's windy, wet and grey?
Or wouldn't you try to get to the same exotic climes to enjoy the same sunshine and balmy time as your last shipmates?

A lot of fans booed him every time he touched the ball throughout the game. I don't know why because he played well for us whilst he was here.
A similar thing happened to Cullip when we played Forest a few months later. It seemed to be mainly youngsters then but at Ipswich it was the majority of Brighton fans. I was standing with Hiney and Turkey. We couldn't understand it.

I doubt this would be a factor.

Many players got a reception when they play against former clubs, one of those things that happens in foootball.

Ah yes, but if the wet and windy rock is about to have a great big stadium full of naked birds and free booze built on it?

That is one thing that I have never been able to understand, booing a former player, can't say that I have ever or indeed would ever do it myself. Even if someone didn't have a particularly distinguished career with the Albion then it is only polite, and in my opinion, the done thing to show some appreciation.

Some fans are quite happy to boo current players for 90 minutes so former players must seem fair game to them

Its not though is it, certainly not in his career

Once we get the yes to Falmer, interest and investment in the Albion will increase in the build up to the new infrastructure being available, Currie knows from his time with us that Brighton are a big club in disguise and I would not be surprised if he chose to join us in what promises to be one of the most exciting periods in our history.
