I Hope it does stay at 3pm. I am on holiday in cromer and have persuaded the wife to have a day out in great yarmouth. As she don't drive I was gonna drop her off on way down pick her up on way back. Any other k.o.time might change her mind. :(

A little disappointed with no derby day on Boxing Day, always was my favourite fixture at the Goldstone. I'm sure they won't expect a team and supporters to travel half the length of the country on Boxing Day so guess it will be Reading, Watford or similar.

Agreed, remember one at Selhurst about 1980(?) There was a knifing at the ground, Albion won, and I had to get back to the South Coast so smuggled myself onto an Albion supporters coach. Luckily was not wearing the colours, I remember the fuzz took all our names, an awful lot of M> Mouses and D. Ducks were present...

Why can't we have a decent train service on Boxing Day now?

Why the f*** do we have to arrange our game around Pride?? We were here first!

Whether we have to or not, asking not to clash with Pride should actually help us to guarantee that the first match of the season (the previous weekend) will be at home.

I can't imagine that Brighton v Leicester, Barnsley, Middlesbrough, Peterborough or about 70 percent of the clubs in the Championship will be of the slightest interest to the TV companies, especially if there are better fixtures. While our first game in a new stadium is fascinating to us, the average TV punter would be far more interested in, say, Birmingham v Leeds or West Ham v Southampton.

I was actually on one of those coaches, one of my first ever away games as a 10 yo !, and a long wait after the game with a police escort out of the city !

I was talking about Pride obviously.

Fair play, but the first recorded Gay Pride event is in the Old Testement.

I would hope that whoever we get on 6th August, the club tell the TV companies to do one - just this once.

This is our day - not everyone else's.

Disagree 100%

The money is a bonus, and it means that all of the exiles and fans without tickets can at least see the first game.

Its not all about those of us lucky enough to be there. And nowhere did anyone ever promise us a kick-off at 3pm on a Saturday.

Pride are rearranging their event around us this time - its usually the first Saturday in August.

I think that magoo's quote might have been a bit tongue in cheek (and other places - WHAT?)

Having fixtures moved for TV is one of the prices we pay for being in the Championship (and part of the reason we get more money from them, of course).

I can't see it will be Friday night. Having the first episode of "Carry on Transport Chaos" around 10pm is just not going to work.

Tales of people stranded at Falmer until the first Saturday morning train services just won't do anyone any good.

Almost a certainty for the Friday night then...

Personally I couldn't give a toss when that first fixture is, as long as I can be there. But I like the exiled supporters angle. It'd be nice to think that an army of exiled Albion fans were able to see the Amex packed to the rafters on their local tellyboxes.

Its not even just the exiles. It's also the thousands of local Albion fans who are not able to get a ticket.
