Forgive me for the link (don't shoot the messenger) but DK did talk to American Express who said they wanted the word Community involved. They were involved with the charity side (AITC) before the Amex opened and the naming rights discussed.

Edit to add a thread from last year when AITC was changed to the Foundation.
I was in a mini town hall at Amex with Peter Godfrey, who at the time was fifth in line to the Amex global organisation. He was going through lots of boring facts and figures, and then suddenly out of the blue mentioned he had a meeting with Dick Knight that afternoon. At that time there was zero connection between The Albion and Amex. I spoke to him after and quizzed him about it. He was very coy but did indicate possible sponsorship of the yet to be built stadium . He was adamant the shirts would not be sponsored. At that time, Amex only got involved in golf and tennis. Every time he would visit, and this was when I was in Telecom House, he would feed me another morsel. Eventually I accidently on purpose bumped into him and TB at Withdean before the 3-3 Southampton match. It was then I knew things were serious, but was sworn to secrecy. Peter is now a member of the Albion board.

Well, one half of you is just so good at putting financial things out there that we can all grasp. Genuinely, is appreciated, and thankyou.

The other half...? Hmmmmm. Always thought you were a fair minded mod on here with no side issues or grudges. We are a far cry now from the day of yourself, Lord and Lady Bracknell, and a few others. etc etc etc
The other half, is a parody of the plonker with prejudices who got banned. The Parody has Capital Letters. The racist was lower case.

Thankyou TB. I'm not quite sure the relevance of your remark though.

I have always thought that Pretty Pink Fairy was El Presidente and pretty pink fairy was a poster who held strong right wing views. Both were and are, amusing.

I'm aware El Presidente , is probably, left of centre, but he never rams it down your throat like others .

Shiny shoes are what is the most important issue I have with Kieran..... :D :D :D

finally read the report today. The bit that excites me the most is the following:

Next season we will open an enhanced pre-turnstile fanzone, and an upgraded in-stadium sound system, and we will continue to work to make the matchday experience the best it can be for our fans.

Assuming the upgraded sound system signifies the end of Hey Jude, Fan Zone and all the other naff stuff they do to kill the build up to the match.

Same songs. You'll just get to hear them louder

It's certainly an odd way to notify Richie Reynolds that he's finally surplus to requirements.

Please let the 'upgraded sound system' be the end of 'Fanzone', Hey Jude, the shit Fedde Le Grand remix, Freed from Desire and Ring of Fire. The pre-match video thing either needs totally redoing or binning as well.

I don't really care if Reynolds hangs about, but he is a bit cringe.

Would be great if the sound system could ambiently pipe the sound of North stand singing around the ground so you can actually hear it. Very simple way to improve atmosphere.
Wooooow woooooow steady neddy, let's not put the cart before the horse.
