Nottingham Forest - beating them away when they were European Champions when they had not lost there for something like three seasons and more recently that Ulloa moment

1-4

The score when Albion played Liverpool at The Goldstone around this time in 1979... Kenny Dalglish bagged a brace for the visitors.

Paul Flood

Played for the Albion but better known in Sussex non-league circles. Regular for Barry Lloyd's Worthing side that reached the 2nd Rd of the FA Cup in 1982/83 - lost at Oxford so unable to join us for the 3rd Round of what turned out to be an interesting year in the cup...

Steve Foster

Brighton Legend. Suspended from the FA Cup Final in 1983. Tried to get booked in a league game v. Notts County to avoid the ban affecting the Wembley date but somehow couldn't manage it.

Ugly Fences

Erected at The Goldstone for the 1979/80 season - a year after the infamous Tottenham match. Caused a problem for Albion fans trying to escape onto the pitch when Arsenal took the North Stand (LC night game?).

Vetch Field, not always happy hunting ground but a great night was had by us on 16 October 2001 as we famously dumped high flying Swansea out of the LDV Vnas drophy after a fine 2-1 come from behind victory. Dirk Lehmann equalising before Lee Steele sent the travelling Albion masses into ecstasy with an 89th minute winner.

Waterhall Fallacy

Proposed as alternative to Falmer. Had been mentioned back 30 years earlier as a place to build a new ground.
