It's interesting to read the discussion here about the Albanian involvement in crime in your country. Seems fairly similar to something that began in Australia back in the days of Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser in the 1970's. To cut a very long and more complex story short, during the Lebanese civil war the jails in Lebanon were opened and a whole generation of Lebanese Muslim criminals made their way to Australia through the Fraser government's generous and weak migration policies. That government was a "conservative" government, by the way.

Moving forward to more recent years, about two thirds of people charged with terrorism in Australia have parents and grandparents who entered Australia through the afore-mentioned policies. And as for more conventional crime, there is a significant Middle Eastern crime phenomenum in Australia particularly in Sydney and Melbourne, that has its origins with the same people.

There seems to be some parallels here. The bottom line in all of this is how migration, illegal or otherwise, is handled. It needs to be approached with caution and the resident community should probably get the benefit of the doubt, if there's even a sniff there may be character issues with potential incoming migrant groups. Creating situations for future generations isn't ideal.
We have some Lebanese clans here as well, the most well-known in Sweden being the Ali Khan family who controls the 60k Gothenburg-suburb Angered.

They have some tens of thousands of family members in Sweden and Germany, a lot of power. But they don't work closely with other families. They aren't involved in every step of crime worth billions of pounds. They can't take control over a country the way the Albanians can.

The problem with denying immigrants or letting the "resident community" have a say is that we're complicit in creating these waves of migration. Our countries gladly go around the world to bomb various countries into pieces for a bit of oil. Once we've destroyed their societies, who the f*** are we to say no if they want to escape the misery we put them in?

Mostly true except for the last para, 'cos Australia didn't bomb Lebanon or destroy their society. Didn't put them in misery at all but they sure as hell brought a lot of it with them.

you say "we" and "our countries" it's our governments that make these decisions not "us" or "we" it is "us" and "we" who are left to deal with the consequences .....who invaded Albania anyway...??

Maybe we should start a Daily Mail headline thread.

Every day, we translate the headline for those unfortunates on here who believe everything they read........

Today it's;

"Suella, I'll send Boat Migrants to Rwanda by Summer"

Translated as - Keep our cranially challenged readers interest on the filthy immigrant Johnny foreigners going for as long as possible, otherwise they just might start to concentrate on all the failures of the last twelve years.

Actually forget the headline thread - that's what 99% of their front page is always about

I have a friend who works in CID, specifically operating in the "Narcotics" area - and he's always said the Albanians are the ones running the show. A propensity towards ruthless physical violence usually wins the day for them in their arena...

We allegedly have a vote in who rules our countries as we're so called democracies, and what we continue to do each time is to elect people who don't give a f*** about people in their own country and even less so other countries but have a signifcant interest in supplying transnational corporations with money, power and cannon fodder. The chaos in the Middle-East does not come down to a single country; you'll have to look hard to find a nation where corporations, usually applaused by a happy clappy government, took the chance to abuse the situation. For instance Volvo, previously a Swedish company, gladly sold thousands of trucks to Israel which they used to occupy Palestinian land, destroy Palestinian settlements and build Israelian ones. Consequence: people from Palestina flee to Sweden. No right to complain about it.

Albania has not been invaded in modern times as far as I know, but again our antics created the situation there, through promoting and propagandising raw capitalism as the solution to all their woes, despite them not being in a position to make such a change. Trick the Albanians into believing they'll be rich Westerners and once they've ousted their government, tell them "Sorry, you can't have your impoverished but ultimately functional communist society. You need to over night change into becoming a neo-liberal state contributing to the global market. What do you mean you have nothing to sell? Surely you can find something. Everyone needs to have something to sell or you'll be f***ed in the modern world." No chance of reform, no chance of slowly switching ideology or economical model, no chance of building up modern education system... just straight into the "sell drugs or die".

The war in Kosovo certainly didn't help them either. The Serbians had treated the Kosovo population not so well for decades but no one gave a shit until the Yugoslavian countries wanted to build infrastructure to create more trade and better relations with Russia, which as usual isn't great for Western business interests. Obviously NATO had to go there and spark some more chaos to ensure that the Eastern block remained weak and dysfunctional. These geopolitical decisions ultimately have consequences for everyone who is not some filthy oligarch.

Albania had three ways to make it work: build those roads to Russia and create a Yugo-Russian financial sphere, remain a somewhat isolated but functional communist country or to use the few skills (drugs) they had to make it in the world. NATO and Western governments ruled out two of those solutions, so now a few decades later we have Albanians pouring drugs into our communities. There were other solutions for the Albanian people post-Hoxha. They had a decent ground to stand on: food independence, decent literacy, little turmoil. Unfortunately they weren't allowed and did not have the finances to buy Coca Cola and go to McDonalds, which is unacceptable in a world run by our Western empire, so we forced them into changing into something they weren't ready for. And now we're paying for it.

Yup, they are very dangerous which is certainly helping them. A lot of those in charge of the show have participated in various, dirty wars in Balkan and have very few limits.

I've not had any issues with them myself but I did have two friends selling drugs from a student corridor. Small scale business to begin with, only selling weed to friends, but later grew into something slightly less small (they were making maybe a bit over £1000 a month from it). It pretty much grew into a little community where we'd be 20-25 people hanging out in that student corridor, with increasing numbers of unknown buyers passing buy to buy weed.

All was fine and well until one night when it was just me and the two sellers, watching Hamburger SV on the telly while smoking and talking. Door bell rings, one of my friends go out to open and come back with three Albanians, one of them holding a knife to the throat of my buddy. No masks, no real safety measures such as not mentioning each others names, nothing like that... absolutely no fear or limitations.

They took all the drugs and all the money and explained that it was their territory. Once things had calmed down quite a bit and there were no knives pointed anywhere, my friend made a somewhat snarky comment to the Albanians. They swiftly pushed him to the ground, grabbed his legs and hung him out the window of the 9th floor student room - in the middle of the city not too late in the evening with plenty of people out and about - telling him they were not to be questioned or mocked. No doubt they would have dropped him if he had shown any signs of resistance. Definitely effective stuff.

Mess with Arab gangs (I missed some payments back when I was a seller myself) and you can have a smoke and a joke and discuss things. Same with most bikers, Yugo gangs, black gangs etc. Talk, explain, negotiate, compromise, solve. Not at all the same with the Albanians. There's no "I'll pay next week" or "could I split the payments?". If you owe them money you don't have and they're coming, you go out and rob something to make sure they have their cash.

Its somewhat fascinating but really creates a lot of issues. Violence is one of the main sources of power, and they have a lot of violence...

Violence has always gone with drugs and the most violent come out on top. I remember someone I knew getting put in RSCH (local hospital) for a lot of work and a fair amount of time after being attacked with an axe following a 'dispute' over drugs. This was with a born and bred local English drug gang back in the late 70's

I've always wondered, are you named after a particularly tasty Albanian Swan recipe ?

Never realised we had so many experts on the interior workings of the Albion crime networks.

I’m especially enjoying the huge tracts of cut and paste being passed off as original work. Amazing how someone has “just happened” to have carried out in depth research on so many of the random subjects that crop up on NSC 🧐

Swans for dinner, indeed! 😄 Somebody pass the huge pinch of salt, please.

Why? They published this last year. What's happened in 2023 that would make the Guardian not publish an article but Albanian involvement in the cocaine trade?

Concerned that it would now be on the wrong side for them of this ever more polarised country.

The proof will be in the pudding. The NCA have been explicit about Albanian drug gangs, will the Guardian in 2023 have major pieces about that or not?

So saying that you wouldn't think the Grauniad would publish something like that wasn't an attempt to polarise this ever more polarised country

Did you actually read the post of mine that you quoted ? I've highlighted the relevant bit for you as you obviously missed it
If your intention is to come across as rude, intolerant of opposing views and condescending then you are doing very well.

The oft repeated statement that people who come across in boats are NOT illegal because it’s the only method of claiming asylum doesn’t really hold true if not everyone in the boats intends to claim asylum.

Saying that in 2019 they extensively covered the fact that Albanian gangs controlled an illegal trade, with violence.

I suspect now that’ll be taboo, NOT wanting to be seen to siding with those calling out such things, who in the main are their political foes.

There have been Albanians supplying drugs in Worthing for over 5 years now , standard m.o get young Albanians to befriend local kids , introduce cocaine , bag here , bag there then present with a quantity of the stuff .....then inform the said locals that uncle Mesnat needs to see them to discuss their drug dept , bikes , mobile phones, jewellery , anything of any value is confiscated in lieu of paying off the debt. how do they pay off the debt...?? by selling cocaine for the syndicates , the Albanian top boys don't even touch the stuff and the local kids are scared shitless of them.

and that my old china , is a cold , hard , fact.
5 years lol.

Try 15 plus.

It holds true that if this is the case it is two separate issues. Two separate issues that the right wing press and the government are encouraging you to conflate.

Also two separate issues with the same solution as one if piggy backing on the other. Provide a safe method of processing asylum seekers that doesn't involve them crossing the channel in boats and the gangsters lose one of their methods of recruiting and getting people into the country.
