When you say 'far right' do you mean the government?
Yep, the government, their supporters and the generally racist people who will take any criticism of ethnic minorities as a chance to score points regardless of relevancy. Tommy Robinson types.

I disagree. I haven’t seen anyone disagreeing that Albanians are a criminal issue in the U.K.

I would offer up that the main reason YOU can’t have a decent discussion is because you play the victim card so often (see your above quoted post) that you write yourself out of any discussion before it’s started.

A discussion starts, three posts in you pop up saying variations on the the theme of “How long before the usual lefty liberals come along and tell us they think criminals from abroad should be given houses and benefits / Asian rape gangs should be empathised with / Brexit caused all this”?

Meanwhile, us adults are happily having the sensible discussion.

You’ve got a chip on your shoulder and you think everyone else is the problem.
The fact that I go against the leftist culture on here doesn’t instantly make me a Tory. I can’t stand the Tories. This is what black and white NSC doesn’t get.

If one takes social issues on a sensible, case by case basis by applying common sense and fact, rather than going to what the default “position” should be as either a left winger or a right winger, then they are politically agnostic. Which is what I am.

What the left has done since Corbyn is push so hard against the middle that they either join or go further right - perhaps in “protest” that they aren’t being heard - which leads the sitting government to follow suit and think it’s what the average person wants. This is how we end up with nutters like Braverman, with the Tories attempting to appease core voters with outrageous policies.

When Starmer comes in, I am hoping upon hope that things settle down. I’m thinking a lots of Labour supporters will be very disillusioned very quickly though when the planned socialist uprising doesn’t occur.

The country needs a boring, middle ground, sane government with a clever and moderate non-reactionary leader and stable moderates in his cabinet. This is what Starmer is offering as did Blair before him. Which is why he’ll win.

I think you’ll find most of us on here are far from “black and white”.
You come into every political discussion with a prepared defence. So much so that I think you miss the opportunity for debate.

Credit NSC with some intelligence.

I’d say about that…. They don’t run all the supply lines…… They buy big once they are established nowadays though.
Their established in the Worthing area regarding weed. I don't know about higher end drugs though.

Paramilitaries from both sides in Ireland, on both sides of the border for Republicans, morphed into powerful organised gangs. The Kinahan gang in Dublin is reportedly worth £1b. A fully running government in Dublin hasn’t been able to prevent the same problems elsewhere including in Ulster.

Republican dissidents have never accepted the peace, murdering 12 in Enniskillen and the shooting of PC John Caldwell last month. That has zilch do with Stormont issues.
I didn’t realise why one of my favourite bands was called “The Murder Capital” was because they were from Dublin and it had the most murders in Europe or something, was quite surprising.

Believing anyone is a "centrist" (something that does not exist) does not exactly indicate intelligence. It indicates delusion.

The far left believe that it’s possible to centrally control everything for “the good of the people” and that those officials placed in positions of responsibility will not take advantage of their situations to the benefit of themselves, their friends and family.

The far right believe that any form of service or collective action run for the benefit of a nation as a whole is by definition wrong, simply because no private shareholders are making money out of it. They believe in market rationality, and that those placed in positions of responsibility won’t abuse their positions to unfairly benefit their company, themselves, or their friends and family.

The extremes of right and left both deliberately ignore the reality of human nature. The idea that capitalists act rationally is proven false almost daily. E.g. Exxon Mobil accurately predicted the impact of climate change from the 1970s onward, and yet has still endlessly funded climate change denial “studies” and lobbied for the watering down of environmental regulation. It has acted dishonestly and entirely to preserve its short term profits at the risk of making parts of the planet uninhabitable. This is not rational, it is sociopathic.

On the left, most states that call themselves communist are strong on the central control bit, but the workers are still frankly there to do what they’re told, suggesting that even if a nation starts with genuinely communist principles, it quickly turns out that some communists are more equal than others.

Neither system works, because both rely on humans not abusing their power and privilege. We do.

The right is a far easier sell than the left, hyper-individualism is far more appealing than collectivism (we are all unique special snowflakes and our choice of shoe/car/political allegiance is shorthand for who we are) - this is where the U.K. and the U.S. are now.

Centrism (which to my mind is just as valid as the concepts of left or right) is a pragmatic approach that suggests that some things are best controlled by the state, some things are best in private ownership and thinks that part of the job is working out which is which.

TLDR; - centrism is the concept of pragmatically governing using a mixture of state and private ownership for public services, according to whichever model is considered best for that particular service. Rather than being ideologically wedded to a model regardless of suitability, it picks “the best tool for the job” and avoids the extremes of both right and left thinking equally.

Just find it bizarre when people tell me that at any given moment I’m about to be stabbed in London, despite visiting it about once a year. So far it hasn’t happened, but we live in waiting, wearing a stab vest to Sporting Bengal United v Clapton at the Mile End Stadium.
