If sky can move a game at the drop of a hat,if ITV can dictate the Kick Off to generate the maximum advertising revenue WTF can not LFC dictate the date of a fixture?

its not about the inconvenience, its the assumption that they have a unilateral right to be excused to ever play on that day ever again, something which other clubs who have suffered their own tragedy dont appear to have or exercise. and its the way its presented, as above Kenny's proclaimation, rather than a diplomatic "we'd rather not... " which would be repsonded with "oh, yes, terribly sorry" and this wouldnt get mentioned again.

How the f*** can FOOLS on here not give a f*** about the suffering of others, how can you give a timespan to grief or the undeserved guilt felt by those that got out whilst family and friends died?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can affect anyone anytime.Same as this disaster could have hit ANY group of fans,i know from my Albion experiences that the Football establishment and the plod put MY life on the line loads of times.I just got lucky.

This is NSC, the milk of human kindness doesn't exactly run free on here.

What does it matter if Liverpool feel that they need to keep the date football free for reflection and mourning? Surely the football world can be flexible on this if that what the people of Liverpool want. I would guess it very rarely causes any problem at all.

To be fair he has made a good point.

Hillsborough is one of those subjects where if you express an opinion which is different to the masses you get jumped on and shouted down.

For instance, if I were to suggest that the scousers were milking it a bit too much all these years on - something I find very undignified, I'm sure there would be some rabid foaming at the mouth type of response like the ones that falkor and raymondbriggs have already waded in with.

Foaming out the mouth not at all, can totally understand why they dont want to play and i dont think they should, also feel alan davies is doing it for a look at me more than anything else.

Chelsea actually - and that was the point Davies was making. Because Liverpool refused to play on the 15th the Chelsea v Spurs match had to be played then - and that only leaves them 2 days before their CL semi against Barcelona. Ideally Chelsea would play on Sat and Liverpool on Sunday. But hey, they aren't Liverpool so why do they matter?

Without foaming at the mouth. I don't pretend to know how long or how much such a tragedy should affect a person involved or the community that lost so many, or how much the lies printed by the biggest newspaper in the country would affect said people , or how the lack of a proper investigation or enquiry would make you feel.

How long should people fight for the justice of their family members?
Perhaps you could tell us how those people affected by having family member die at a football match in such a horrible way should be acting and for how long as you seem to know.

Liverpool should not be excused from playing on this particular date.

It is bound to be a semi-final of the FA Cup, more often than not.

I'd have thought that all those Liverpool fans in one place would be ideal for them to remember the deceased.

But that is not your call is it? Surely they would be best suited to choosing the manner of their memorial?

Liverpool of course have the right not to play on a particular day - however if their semi final had been on the Sunday - I suspect they would have turned up.

What do you base this suspicion on?

FA cup games can be played either Sat or Sun so why does it have to be the 15th? It is very pertinent that it is an FA cup semi final (I don't think Liverpool have refused to play a League game to my knowledge) and it is against Everton their closest rivals.
What has it got to do with Alan Davies? He's a comedian so does he think it's humourous or something? Let the FA sort it out.

Liverpool have never played a game on that day since.

To be honest you could say the same about Davies. I wish he'd just shut the f*** up, frankly. What Liverpool do or don't do regarding The Hillsborough Tragedy is none of his damned business.

This is rich. People on a football forum commenting on hillsborough spouting off about that fact that Alan Davies has no right to pass comment.

It was a terrible tragedy but as others have pointed out, there have been plenty others. Had the outcome for Fabrice Muamba not been successful, would it be acceptable for Bolton to refuse to play at White Hart Lane ever again?

As for the city of Liverpool, we all know they go hand in hand with communal grief/chip on shoulder. They will of course never play on that day because it has been left far too long now. Perhaps the way to get around it now would be to play a home game on that day and donate all the profits from the gate/concessions/tv to the victims families. It won't happen and now cue abuse from raymondbriggs et al.

Perhaps they will play on that day when the perceive that justice has been reached for their loved ones.

But their 'choice' directly effects others.
