Gus must now seriously think about playing Brezovan Casper does not seem to be able to dive to make a save, and lets not forget he only came in when Peter was injured.:albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2::albion2:

If we want to guarantee a keeping cock up per game, and stick the worst keeper in the league between the sticks your suggestion would make complete sense.

On what grounds would you confirm Peter as the worst Keeper in the 2nd tier.Casper is clearly not good enough we must use our resources and Brez is one of them

So what? he did a huge cock up which gave spurs their goal and he looked absolutely clueless against Stoke.

He never let in 3 goals once, Ankers does it constantly and like i said they were premiership teams casper is only facing 2nd tier players and he can`t cope with them,he has to go in January.

Playing snooker
Poyet could do worse than follow the example of the late, great Brian Clough. He built his teams from the back, safe in the knowledge that if you aren't going to concede at least you're not going to lose.

This piece by Jeremy Wilson in the Telegraph from 2010 sums up Clough's philosophy:

It was Brian Clough who first risked his reputation by spending huge money on a goalkeeper. Indeed, he regularly told a story about how his own board of directors derided him for making Peter Shilton a club record signing for Nottingham Forest.
“I was asked by someone on our board why we should bother to spend so much cash on a guy who might not be in the game for 85 minutes,” he said.
It is safe to assume that director had stopped complaining three years later when Shilton had helped Forest to win two European Cups, the League Championship and the League Cup.
As Clough went on to explain: “Shilton was the deciding factor. I’d have paid almost any price. A team with an OK goalkeeper is always looking over its shoulder. At the back of its mind, it’s thinking ‘it doesn’t matter what we do – the fella between the posts might make a mistake’. With Shilton in goal, it gave everyone else more confidence. It spread throughout the side. We were full of ourselves.”

If Poyet is going to spend money, it has to be on a keeper. We're shipping stupid goals for fun at present.

Which Reading goal are you blaming Casper for? The first one where El-Abd lost his man and gave him a free shot from about 8 yards out, the shot from McAnuff which was deflected in off Church or the own goal? I'm not saying he is perfect but I can't see why he is to blame for the Reading goals.

Players "talent/form" is not always static (some grow and get better/worse). Brez (and Poke for that matter), now, may be much better than they were a year ago. Who knows, we're not there on the training ground so will have to wait and see.....

Agreed.... I thought Casper did ok at Reading. Plus his distribution only looked bad because the defenders kept putting him under pressure with lame back passes.
(And IMO were forced into passing it back to him, because the midfield were so static)

just my 0.02$

Also agree with this. The people directly behind me were yelling "For f*** sake Casper!" when he kicked it out after a terrible backpass from Dunk.
