But wasn't he playing at the start of the season?

I agree with some of them being worth having, but why did their confidence go, in the first place???

They’ve been in the PL for the best part of a decade, every team’s confidence must dip at some stage.

Stains .... staying up, yet again.

A summary of clueless interaction on Radio Sussex now.

Caller says they play possession football and don't create shooting chances.

Just 21 tonight....:ffsparr:

I am going to make 2 points that I have been banging on about to my mates for a few weeks now.

1. The players are too comfortable.
2. The manager does not know his best team or formation. (Triple substitution tonight ffs)

Both of these things equal relegation.

Big Sam? You mean the one who was so greedy for money when England manager that he fell for a setup by an investigative reporter? And you'd want him as Albion manager? Do you not think that his lack of professionalism (to put it mildly) and integrity rather excludes him from a senior role in management of any club?

It was evident to me that essentially we seemed to lack a goalscorerer upfront this evening. Yeah, I know Maupay had one brilliantly saved but given the amount of possession in the first half there seemed to be a dearth of shots on goal.Would Glenn have done better? I was stunned at the speed with which Bmuff ripped apart the Albion defence. Seemed to me that the fault lay with the midfield.

Well glad we haven't got a game for 12 days, time to regroup. Two massive games coming up where we need at least 4 points.

It’s crap isn’t it? Doesn’t take a genius to work out you need to change it. Can’t keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

And now every team knows that when you press us we keep trying small passes and we will give the ball away. It’s pathetic

Last rant for the night - if you don’t bring GM on when you are getting stuffed, why have him on the bench. I’m sure he would have done more than Trossard did, and maybe March and Connerly too.

Well he has managed Palace and Everton since then so I guess not.

Not that I want him anywhere near our club mind.

I just woke up and checked the scoreline, unbeleivable.
A quick look at the stats shows us with 66% possession, 8 shots on target with one goal.
Bournemouth 34% possession, 3 shots on target and 3 goals.
I know one of their goals was an own goal, but we have to drastically improve tbe goals scored to shots on target ratio or we will go down.
8 on target and 1 goal, our finishing, or lack of is a real joke.
Will watch replay when I get home from work, lost for words.

I have a variant of your theme on #2. He is a tinkerer, he thinks he can change players and format at will (which he can) but seems to look only at the upsides of that and not the downsides. The current end product is no one is in form. And there are also downsides to giving managers very long contracts, which is a variant of your #1.

Below is why we are in trouble spending money on players we don't need or who are not up to making a real contribution.

Hughton, Potter and anyone else couldn't do much more with the squad we have. Unfortunately Potter is also starting to look naïve.

Adam Webster - £22,500,000 Not Needed
Matthew Clarke - £5,000,000 Not Needed
Alireza Jahanbakhsh - £17,100,000 Two moments otherwise anonymous
Yves Bissouma - £15,210,000 Player in there somewhere but we needed someone who could make a contribution straight away. Were not Liverpool with the luxury of having time for players to develop
Jürgen Locadia - £14,000,000 oh dear

Would rather have kept Sam Baldock and Tomer than spunked money on Locardia etc at least they would have been up for it!

That really is a shocking amount of money. Would add Andone to that list as well. Only Bissouma i would not include because i still believe he is class given a run in the team.

I'd wager you didn't say that when Potter changed the front two against watford away when we ran out winners there..............
