Think it's a 2 way thing - suddenly there's a pressure on the team with 11 to finish the job, whilst the team with 10 suddenly get an extra fight within then. Often, anyway. So 10 v 11 isn't quite as straightforward as you'd think (unless there's a big gap in class)Why does it happen that you go down to 10 men and you raise your game? How does that work?
You know you have to put in extra work to compensate for the lost man. And perhaps there's an element of perspective - it seeming better, because the team with 11 think they don't have to bust a gut because they've got the extra man.Why does it happen that you go down to 10 men and you raise your game? It's interesting that being reduced to 10 often makes little difference or actually improves a team's performance - but being reduced to 9 is an absolute killer blow.Think it's a 2 way thing - suddenly there's a pressure on the team with 11 to finish the job, whilst the team with 10 suddenly get an extra fight within then.
