Live and neutral at the switch, the light end had earth too. Disconnected and taped up both ends

If you only have 2 wires at the switch, on one cable, they are live and switched live, the black or blue wire you have there will not be connected to neutral.

The red or brown wire will be a live feed from your lighting circuit, the black or blue will connect back at a rose or junction box to the live (red or brown) that you see at the light fitting, it would be best if you could disconnect at the rose or junction box, as you can disconnect the neutral there too, and the live feed to the switch. Failing that I would disconnect the switched live only (black or blue) at the switch and put it into a wago. leave the live feed in the switch terminal or put it in a wago, safer than leaving it taped up and floating.
I am not an electrician either, but I don't think you have had clear advice from the one person that has replied and I believe is an electrician.

Your theory is normally correct But you are making assumptions We need more info

The load side ( light fitting )neutral in the switch you disconnected, was it in a connector block
Or was the switch double pole and you had four cores connected to it 2 in 2 out ?

This is the light fitting end and the 3 points I disconnected

Sorry I meant by switch
It'should either be a normal 6@ light switch 2 cores in switch &neutral in a connector Or a double pole switch where all the cables are terminated into the switch
Obviously you have disconnected them already
Before some comedian makes a joke

Here's a pic - the two brown wires went to the switch. No idea what the others do but the switch sits alongside a double socket so assume that's the power in ... wires at top will be off to light

OK in this instance Bald Seagulls is kind of on the right track
Now from the pic I can see the neutral is unbroken
So that needs separating ,take it out of the wago looking connector ( the blue to the light fitting you removed )
leaving the blue feed in the connector
Then ideally fit either a connector block( and tape ) or wago on the brown that didn’t go to the light fitting
That’s your live supply
It’s quite possible dependent on the cable route ,? once this done the cable to the old light may pull out
Turn your entire Fuse board off Just to be safe whilst doing this
IF you don’t know which cable is the feed and which went to the light ?
Then split blues and browns and put connector block s on each core
Then put the switch or blanking plate back on
Can you put up a pic of the switch ?
Are the green / yellows connected into a little brass pillar with a screw on top Can’t make it out in the pic
