Thought this was meant to have already been discussed by the council, so obviously been some sort of hold up.

You can look it up the status of planning applications on Adur DC's website.

As someone who is not au fait with the planning processes, could someone maybe offer an overview of how and when they might be starting to build it.

It looks as if it has been held up, lots of requests from the Council and their consultees for further information, it has passed its statutory time period for a decision, so there are no clear times now- I think they wanted to start work in June but that would seem unlikely at this point.

The council will want the Club to answer all the questions and once they have done so, the council will make a recommendation to their councillors/committee members and approximately 2-4 weeks later they meet to make the decision.

The planning application was submitted in February; when I looked at the planning portal on Adur DC's website last week the current status was listed as "Pending consideration". As D'beep has already indicated, this suggests that further info/data have been requested; after receipt of this, the officers will make a recommendation to the Planning Committee who will then decide. Timeline depends on where the club are with providing the additional info etc and scheduling for future Planning Committee Meetings (ie agenda space). Could be a month if everything's been submitted otherwise...................

There was an extension added during March/April to the consultation process.

The original target decision date was 11 May. If this has been put back until the next planning committee meeting to allow for this extension, then - assuming that these are held once a month - it could well be that the decision will be made at next month's meeting.

The consultation period was extend by 3 weeks to 30 March so the target decision date could be pushed out to 1 June, although the Adur DC website still says 11 May.
Adur DC Planning Committee Meetings take place monthly, the next is on 28 May (we're not on the agenda) and the following month's will be on 25 June. Worryingly, the vice-chairman of the Planning Committee is a Mike Mendoza.

I havn't been following it too closely of late but according to the local paper and the local NIMBY website the highway agency have put another 6 week block on a decision while they study the impact on a local roundabout, Also the Albion have still got to submit some more reports plus the Albion are also going to submit some changes to the plans to try and appease the local NIMBY's. Apparently it's going to be at least the middle of July before it goes to the planning commitee.

I'd love for us to have a backup plan.

Pull out of this, sit back and watch the binfestery when 1500 houses are put there instead.

Ok ....... but when the planning committee reconvenes maybe sometime in July, is it then likely to be a simple YES or NO decision ??

If it is a yes does the club then have full clearance to start the build ??

Thank you in advance for your help.
