They should concentrate on getting second before they even start thinking that they're up to our standard.

They essentially ARE second. They're the only team within ten points of us that we don't have games in hand over. Essentially, they're our closest competition at the moment. Albeit close is in this case a number in double figures!

Can't see that Adkins has said anything outrageous, he's merely acknowledging that whilst SCC could catch us it's not very likely.

Credit to Southampton. An outstanding result away to Bournemouth. There, I've said it now.

If the situation was reversed we would expect Gus to be saying that we can catch them so nothing really except that he is saying it so often that is has become boring.

sorry Canned heat you just beat me to the bnutton.

How can an over-confident crowd affect players' performance?

I am so,so glad we did'nt have him as the Albion manager he really is a dickhead,an arrogant dickhead at that.
we keep winning and picking up points Gus keeps saying eeez complicated,Tanno just smiles and to be very honest I don't give a flying feck who comes up with us in second place, because that is what it will be SECOND PLACE

To be fair, he does have a point, if we were in their position, I would expect Gus to say the same sort of thing. Personally I can't stand the stains, (probably due to me getting my head kicked in outside the goldstone) but what else could he say?

Anyone see the away support compared to ours at Bournemouth? Was this down to Bournemouth giving them a small allocation for their own reasons?

Brighton at Bournemouth 2208
Southampton at Bournemouth 1365
???

It's possible that Southampton only had the area behind the goal, whereas we had some of the side stand as well. As there were problems following the Southampton home game, it was probably on police advice? I don't know but just guessing that could be the reason.

Demand from Bournemouth fans was apparently higher for this game, so they sold them to their own fans rather than Stains.

Couldn't care less what he says, I don't know why so many are obsessed. They are cloest to us than anyone. In the next three weeks, they have Charton to play home & away, MK Dons at home and Orient away. If they win that lot, maybe they deserve to be nearer to us - but I suspect they'll lose some points in that lot.

The subtle difference is I would expect Gus to be talking about us raiding our game to catch up Southampton and in his interviews since we went top, Adkins seems to be suggesting that we're going to screw it up. He seems to be expecting us to do the work for him rather than the other way round. That said, actions speak louder than words and to have equalled us in terms of results over the last 4 games is a pretty good achievement so they're still snapping at our heels and I still consider them to be a threat in some way.

Errr....Charlton have lost seven out of their last eight (or similar) I believe. Even a team made up of the combined ex-members of Bucks Fizz, The Goombay Dance band and Blue could beat Charlton at the moment.
