Adams set to RE-EVALUATE Contract decisions

Yes but you've made the assumption that he's also talking about the players we let go. He could have meant more than those who have been offered new deals who will actually have them withdrawn.

.

That would more reasonable but reconsidering those that have been released would make it a shambles. Time will tell, I must confess I hadn't considered that it could be a re-evaluation of those that had been offered contracts. However unless this appointment was made in a shock 24 hours why was Deano even allowed to get involved in discussing contracts?

Rumours posted on the board suggest Wilkins demise has been an ongoing possibilty since Xmas though.

On the surface I still reckon it looks a shambles, hope I'm wrong

The decisions are likely to have involved Dean White, Ian Chapman and Barry Lloyd, especially Chapman if he's been in charge of the reserves, where most of those who were released have been playing all year.

As they're all still in place, and would be advising Adams, then I don't see there being too much of a change of heart. Adams might be saying he'll be reviewing it, just as a quick way to show that he's in charge, but it doesn't mean he'll actually bring any back.

If he does of course, then I just hope it's for footballing and not sentimental reasons.

Why is it a shambles? All that's happened is that people are making suggestions and assumptions as to what's happened.

The only real thing is that Micky Adams is the new manager, and Dean Wilkins has been offered another role.

You're only saying it's a shambles because you don't know the real reason behind the decisions that have been taken. Well I've got news for you, that doesn't make it a shambles.

Hang on Mr Patronising pants, my point is this. The club released ten players on Tuesday/Wednesday. On Thursday night they replace the manager. They must have known this was going to happen (or was at least extremely likely to happen), so why did they allow Dean Wilkins to cull the squad, only for Mickey Adams to offer the same players a lifeline two days later?

Surely they could have stalled these decisions? Why is a senior pro like Kerry Mayo being told after eleven years that he is unemployed one minute, then possibly remployed the next? Is that the right way to treat him, Paul Reid, Guy Butters, Gart Hart etc? Either something has happened in an extremely short timescale (i.e. 48 hours) or the club has cocked up.

may have already been mentioned but say DW accepts the new role what happens if a say Butters or Reid get offered contracts how is that going to make any of the parties feel could be a bit awkward.

Just cannot see a way back for any of them on the playing staff but would not be surprised if some of those who have been offered contracts might find the negotiation a little more interesting than under DW.

all speculation though and pointless until we see what happens once the dust has settled.

still a strange, unecessary, and frankly unhelpful comment for MA to have made
