Is the board of this club turning in the best impression of Fred Karno's Army seen in recent years?

All this sounds an absolute shambles in true Fred Karno styleee

BUT the headlines are the press. DK has said he wants WIlkins to stay on. One thing is for sure Wendy hasn't coped with the stress very well, which i turn leads me to believe he asked to take a back seat out of the limelight
All this business with him sitting in the stands and now not being at training or games makes me think that HE himself had something to do with this.

All reasonable points, can't argue with those.

Then again, I don't think Reid was expecting the events of the last day or so to happen!

Of course he wasn't, but what benefit was there is having that little petulant outburst? No manager was going to turn round and think "Oooh yeah, he's the sort of team player I want. Toys out of the pram if I don't mollycoddle him, yep he's the man for me."

Just, as it turns out, the bridge he burnt with teh Albion may have actually come in handy. D'oh.

Don't forget, that was an EDITED interview.

MA went on to say "Who's been released? Has that Dave Cameron bloke gone? Whatever happened to Bobby Zamora?"

and added " I am confident that a strike force of Dirk Lehmann and Lorenzo Pinamonte will set this division alight!"

Wilkins was told on Wednesday by all accounts.

I though Knight spoke to him about it last night.

Knight broke the news to Wilkins last night.

"We very much want him to stay," the chairman said. "His strengths lie in coaching and the development of players.

It is possible that Adams ERRORED in his Seagulls World interview, and changed his mind in front of the press.

Either that, or Naylor has actually had a shocker!

Adams to review retained list
By Andy Naylor

Micky Adams will take another look at the list of players released and retained by his managerial predecessor, Dean Wilkins.

Wilkins axed ten players on Tuesday, including long-serving trio Kerry Mayo, Gary Hart and Guy Butters, and gave five others new deals.

Adams said: "I will sit down with Dick (chairman Dick Knight) and the Board and review it. That is not to say players who have been released will be given a way back into the club.

"I will review it and take opinions. I've got my own opinions because I have seen the team three or four times this season."

Adams has ruled out a return to the club for either of his former assistants, Alan Cork and Bob Booker.

He said: "The chairman has already said we've got an established coaching set-up at the club and I don't see that changing."

cold hard assessment with a bit of objectivity.

Butters: solid, but years counting against him. does he need regular games to stay fit?
Hart: not as quick as he was but commited and an Adams style player.
Mayo: Left sided, utility but seems to me he has problems with fitness.
Reid: great player but injury prone.
others: i think its safe to assume others arnt in the frame.

The funny thing is, as much as we all love and respect these players, i recall some calling for them to leave, before this season even. They are bound to be amongst the highest earners, yet possilby on less money than replacements would expect.

As for players staying, well that all depends on their current contract status and no change there really. depends if they have actually signed yet.

What a f***ing shambles.

Why is it a shambles? All that's happened is that people are making suggestions and assumptions as to what's happened.

The only real thing is that Micky Adams is the new manager, and Dean Wilkins has been offered another role.

You're only saying it's a shambles because you don't know the real reason behind the decisions that have been taken. Well I've got news for you, that doesn't make it a shambles.

Oh no, you misunderstand. Changing managers is fine, and I'm a million times happier with Micky at the helm instead of Wilkins. But behind the scenes, what the f*** is going on? You can't allow Wilkins to release 10 players if you know he's going, but what's even worse is that Adams could feasibly re-sign them. That is a shambles as far as I'm concerned. By all means make the managerial change if you want, but the organisation and execution of it has been oh so typical albion - AMATEURISH.

Yes but you've made the assumption that he's also talking about the players we let go. He could have meant more than those who have been offered new deals who will actually have them withdrawn.

Frankly this has been on the cards for some time, I wouldn't believe for one minute that any of the decisions will be changed, but MA needs to go in to this with his eyes wide-open, and that includes reviewing those who have been let go. I would be astonished if any of those decisions were reversed.

But that doesn't make us a shambles or a joke TCB. It just means a different perspective.
