Adams NOT bringing the crowds back?

IThe following season we were great - once half of Adams' shit signings had been released and improved. Jamie Campbell, Mark Walton, Dave Cameron, some muppet from Swansea called Thomas, Aiden Newhouse etc. God he made some shit signings. Thank f*** he didn't sign Pinnamonte, otherwise we'd never have signed Zamora.

I think Horton signed Walton (who was not too bad in the end), but yes, he did sign a lot of shite

we were absolutely GASH from the third game of that season (after Manfield home and Orient away) until some time in January when Paul Brooker was brought in and ran Northampton RAGGED in a one-nil away defeat. Zamora then joined shortly after...

Actually Zamora joined before Brooker, both of them coming to the club in Feb 2000.

Bobby made his debut for Brighton in the 1-1 draw at home to Plymouth (12/02/00) scoring on his debut. Brooker joined the following week and made his debut in the Northampton game (19/02/00) where we dominated but lost 1-0 as you mentioned. They both then played and scored in the 7-1 away thrashing of Chester.

OK there were some poor performances in Adams first season but to say the football was shit is unbelievable. You only have to look back a couple of seasons earlier to when we were at Gillingham to see what shit football really is.

Apparently that 4000 figure for season tickets sold in the Argus the other week was WAY off the mark, and the actual figure is closer to 2500.....

not true... i can guarantee you that 3,800 season tickets are being sent out this week. i'm guessing more will apply between now & 5-10 games in to the season.

Last year they sold a little more than 8,000 season tickets, all told.

This year, taking a big gamble on dropping prices, they have sold 16,000 plus already!

Two things helped, a Centenary Year deal clebrated with a £100 season ticket offer (don't know the details), and persuading Arsenal to vist for a pre-season match last night, a near if not total sell-out

Their website has some examples of what can be done despite, like ours, being managed by ptv. Yesterday morning, ticket office had a page showing exactly how many tickets available in each area of the stadium.

I'm sure our ticket office staff aspire to such features - I have always, over many years, found them quick, efficient, and friendly - so what is holding them back?
