Nope and i think it will be different this time.

He has showed intent with McCleod signing and pushing Thompson further forward

But he had Rogers going forward in that season and wingers such as Thomas and later on Brooker.

He is a pragmatist, rather than a football purist and with the current squad expect to see a team that grinds results out.

Adams was always a bit "direct". Why would we be playing short passing football now?? Let's face it, we had a decent team under Adams last time, but the attacking tactic was similar to my old U15 coach who used to shout "give it to Eddie" from the sideline. Adams shout was "give it to Bobby"

Maybe he has changed a bit. The football we played against Ipswich just looked a bit more positive imo.

Out of interest what would be your starting 11 if everyone was available?

I hope we mix the style and team up depending on the opposition. Sometimes it will be counter-attack and others flowing attacking football ideally

He lasted the first few and then dissapeared. My point was, he had wingers available last time, but in that first season the football was pragmatic. The second season we had Zamora and some extra quality in the likes of Carpenter, hence us winning the league.

Thomas was dropped first game of the season... the 6-0 win. We were SHIT that season too. Let's not kid ourselves, we won the league because we had Zamora. Not quite a one-man team, but he was like having two men upfront... which meant we could put 5 in midfield

It has not been all that positive. The Charlton game the midfield forgot to link up with and / or pass the ball to the forwards. We looked OK at the back and Thomson and Livermore looked solid enough as a defensive shield.

The positive from the Ipswich game was we at least tried to include the forwards in the game and Murray and Forster played closer together.

However with the central midfielders at our disposal, I think we are going to be one of those sides that will try and be strong at the back, grind out results and hope extra fitness gets us a result.

Team wise, I guess at present it is Kuipers, Whing, Richards, Lynch, Elphick, Thomsom, Livermore, McLeod, Cox, Forster and Murray.

However I really would be tempted to pick Chamberlain for one of Cox or McLeod. Play 3 central midfielders, then either Cox or McLeod in front of the midfield. I feel Chamberlain actually has something to offer that most of our other central midfielders do not.

I felt the first season we were certainly not great to watch and somewhat inconsistent. Too often we played 5 at the back and lumped the ball forward, but revisionists are always at work on these things.

The second season Zamora gave us some focus up front, but also Brooker and Carpenter gave the squad that extra bit of quality. The other thing was actually how good Paul Rogers was, just some never seemed to realise that.

We won the league by 6 clear points but were shit ???, most of the football that season was an absolute joy.

Agree with Chamberlain he has put some terrific pre season performances in but will he make the transition to the first 11?

I didn't get to see much of the Charlton game so couldn't comment

Chamberlain could well have come through this season. Adams appointment won't have done him many favours though... Adams likes to play two hardmen in midfield and that's not really Chamberlain's game. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fraser a regular by the end of the season though
